Ms. Days Ease RV Life #108

Good Morning Everyone! Today is Thursday, March 19, 2020. Here I am “driveway surfing” at Suzan & Bette’s house near Marco. It’s a DREAM! I love it. I’ve made reservations at Collier-Seminole State Park but all of the State Parks in Florida & Georgia and elsewhere are closed. So I got this wonderful opportunity to stay in their driveway. Here is a picture of my view from my window:

At Suzan & Bette’s

Yesterday, I moved out!  I first took Daisy to the pool:

In my neighborhood, we have a nice pool – it’s right across from my house so the new owners should enjoy that!  I only used the pool a couple of times because it didn’t have much shade so I didn’t go there.  It isn’t used all that much but recently with this Coronovirus it’s being used to entertain the families who have kids out of school.  Anyway, the parking area can be used to keep vehicles for a while like Daisy.  I’ve seen trucks with boats and trucks with RV’s behind them there.  No one can park “overnight” there, but it was the perfect place for Daisy while this was happening:

This is the truck that holds my stuff!  It arrived at 8:35 AM.  They said they would be there between 8:30 and 9:30 so I had just relocated Daisy and they showed up!  Very impressive!  4 guys came in to pack me up.  Shawn, John, Dakota and Evan.  This is what they did:

They filled up 4 of those crates with a little left over – I think my couches – but I’m not sure.  They were very efficient and everything was done before 2PM.  I like these guys.  I was embarrassed to see how dirty my couch was once they took the cushions off.  So lesson learned – clean behind the cushions once in 7 years!  WOW!

I discovered when I ran my dishwasher for the “last” time, that the hose was leaking.  We discovered when cleaning out from under the sink, that there had been a leak there.  I never noticed it since the new cabinetry was installed.  I only use my dishwasher once in a while – I think when I go to Benson, I’ll hand wash my dishes and use the dishwasher as “storage”.  Famous last words – anyway – we called a plumber and luckily they had a cancellation and could come out yesterday.  Guy shows up and says – we don’t fix dishwashers – you need an appliance guy – That will be $98 please – bye bye!  UGH!!!!!  Anyway as luck would have it.  My HomeTech warranty work ended on Monday the 16th!!!!  I called them “in case they would take pity on me” but it would have been $99 for the trip and extra for parts etc.  So I called “Mr. Appliance” – googled it – and “Andy” is coming out this morning to fix it.  It will probably be about $200 to fix it.  I feel bad that the leak occurred and I didn’t know because under the sink it looks pretty bad, but not bad enough to end the deal – especially since I’m getting it fixed today.  Just in the nick of time because I “hit the road” tomorrow.  Diana called me this morning and it dawned on me that I was really leaving tomorrow!  I just got this video – it’s talking about how to stay connected.  There are 2 parts.  Let me now go get Part 1.

I’ll do that later – need to go to my house right now.

So to continue what has happened today.  I got to my house with the help of Bette & Suzan and David from MrAppliance came to my place.  Good news and bad news!  He can fix it but he had to order a part.  So he won’t have the part until Monday next week at the earliest.  So since I’ll be in Lousiana  by then, I’ll need to have Joanne do the meeting.  My closing is on Wednesday!!!  So I’m leaving it in her hands with the hope that David will be the one to fix it and that there are no complications because I paid the $220 bill on my credit card.  Life is interesting isn’t it?
