Good Morning Everyone!
I’m in Silver Springs this morning and it is Saturday, March 21, 2020. Second day on my 9 day trip to Arizona from Florida. I’m practicing “Social Distancing” and staying in my home (tiny house on wheels named Daisy) during this pandemic. If you’ve been following me, you know that I thought that I might not do this trip right now because of all the “warnings” about traveling and “stuff” during the Global Crisis. Did I ever think I would be living through a GLOBAL PANDEMIC? Not really, but here we are. So Metaxa and I are happily traveling despite the fear and anxiety. But look at this picture of Daisy, just tucked away under the Spanish Moss and next to the bath house in Silver Springs, FL: No anxiety here!

This part of Florida is so pretty. It has big Oak trees with Spanish Moss hanging off of the limbs. I’m under a huge one. I took a walk around the park yesterday for my “exercise” and took this picture of a neighboring house:
While I was walking around yesterday, I saw a nice young family in a newer Class C with 3 little bitty kids all under 4. They were walking around the picnic table during supper in just diapers and nothing else. Made me think that they are probably “nomads” that will be home schooling when the time comes. It was a sweet picture but with Social Distancing, I didn’t get their “story”. So I’m imagining that the father probably works remotely and they travel with the kids. Now that I know about living in an RV, having kids running around mostly naked is smart. No dirty clothes to wash – just dirty kids. I can’t imagine trying to give kids a “bath” in an RV. Must be an interesting life. So watching the kids running around with just their diapers reminds me of the time when I was about 4 or 5 and my mom let me out into the back yard in Connecticut in the summer with just my undies on and no shirt. To this day, I still think about how uncomfortable I felt like that. So now, beside the fact that I have old, wrinkled arms and skin that can’t take the sun, I like to wear longs sleeves and long pants. Funny how old memories stay with you!
Gonna take a break now – time for a shower! OMG! How great is a hot shower with continuously running HOT water in the morning! I am content as can be right now. Love this life!
Ok so to continue. I drove to Flint River RV Park in Bainbridge, GA. I get to scratch off another State today. Yippee! Now I’m trying to figure out whether I can scratch off Alabama. I think I’ve just passed through Alabama each trip, but let me look at the stops we’ve had on the 2 times I’ve done this. That is right – no stops in Alabama. So Georgia is the one to scratch off today!
Here is a picture at my first stop at a rest stop today: I think I stopped at this one before.
This one wasn’t as busy as the one yesterday and I also think that I 10 is not as busy either. I’m wondering if it’s the CV that is doing that. Plus look out my window at this sweet little RV Park in Georgia.
Getting to Bainbridge, Georgia from I 10 took about an hour but it was the nicest drive off the highway. Very pretty! Lot’s of churches and liquor stores! Funny! So this is how the CV has impacted business. When I got to the campground – I missed the turn first – so I had to call for better directions – Jody spoke with me and said, go to the office and put your money in the envelope and put it in the slot. She wasn’t even opening the office. Then as I got there and finished paying them, a big White Truck followed me to my site and I guess she or her husband were in the truck to make sure I got settled – never spoke with them, never really saw them because of the dark windows. So it was easy to do that, but very weird feeling. But now I’m in Daisy with the AC on, Metaxa is on the bed and I’m blogging. I feel snug as a bug in a rug!
SO one benefit of the CV is that gas is cheaper. Here is what I paid today:
Only this per gallon!
So right now I’m going to step out to take a little stroll around this park. It really looks nice. I’ll be back with more pictures, Bill Strenkert!
So that took me all of 10 minutes – my exercise rings will not be happy today! Anyway, I’m grateful I took my shower this morning as the Bath House here ain’t that great. They do have a nice laundry room but not ready to do laundry and won’t need to until I get to Benson. I’m glad that it is cloudy today. I may be able to open the windows and the screen door and turn off the A/C. Time will tell. I may take a nap now. Ahhhhhh – that’s the life! So I’ve turned off the AC & have the windows open. My thermometer says it’s 76 in here. That’s comfortable! I just called Fontainebleau State Park & they are open! I’ll call my next stop on Monday to be sure they are open. I’m staying 2 nights at Fontainebleau. Gonna try to see if I can get my printer to work in Daisy. So that’s it for today. Thanks for visiting! Come back again!
