Ms. Days Ease RV Life #112

Good Morning Everyone! It is Monday, March 23, 2020. I was watching a video this morning from Eric of Nomadic Fanatic. I like his videos because he travels with a tabby cat named Jax. He even takes Jax out in a baby carriage on a leash. Now that’s a REAL MAN! Anyway he is in Texas and is trying to decide what to do moving forward. He is a Disney fanatic and is bummed that the parks are closed. He also had tickets to see Nascar in Texas and they have been cancelled. So he’s a bit depressed about all of this. But one thing he said was he never expected to live through a Pandemic in his lifetime (He is probably 30 something) so that is interesting coming from a younger person because that is exactly what I’m thinking. Who ever thought that those science fiction scary movies would become a reality! But this too shall pass. 2 more days and my house will close in Naples. Walk through went well yesterday – thank you Joann!

I went to bed last night around 8 – what a joy to do what I want when I want without any judgement! Metaxa is happy to go to sleep whenever! So I’m up early today. It’s still dark out and I can’t see anything outside yet. My window on the drivers side is open and I’m beginning to see the sky lighten a little. It is so quiet here in Louisiana. I plan to ride my bike this morning at some point. I want to check out the bath house so I can decide to take a shower in the morning or not. This is also a “rails to trails” park and I plan to go for a ride on that for a while. I think I’ll probably “dump” here before I leave. Last time I was here with Bill and Cathy, I was in the site next to the dump station. Yesterday there was a big ole Class A in my little bitty spot. Now I’m in a HUGE pull through in my little bitty Class C!

Fontainebleau State Park – Mandeville, LA

I’m looking forward to getting to Benson so I can get Otis2 set up to pull behind Daisy.  It would really be nice to have a tow vehicle for that purpose on this trip.  As I sit in Daisy I’m imagining all of my stuff in my new home!  I think I’ll put that little liquor cabinet as a table behind my love seat facing the TV Table just as you come in the front door.  Then it’s a decision to put the couch facing the kitchen or looking out the window,  I think facing the kitchen would be best because it will leave the room more open.  Then I’m trying to imagine the little desk and where that will go.  So then the decision is to decide where the “break front” will go and the side board.  So much fun imagining all of that.

Just took a picture out of the passenger side of Daisy – no neighbors across the road:

A guy just walked by walking his dog and drinking his coffee.  I waved from inside – wonder if he saw me.  Now I hear my neighbor to my left taking off.  Guess they are going to get an early start.  It’s 7AM.  I am enjoying this solitude, but really I like the friendliness of campers while camping.  So this does feel a little weird!

This is my view out my bathroom window – lot’s of space between sites!

I’m beginning to smell the campfire going down the way.  It’s very humid here.  I think Daisy will feel damp today while I’m here.  We’ll see how that goes.  I’ll probably close up and put the air on later as the day gets hot.

I think I’m going to go out for a while.  I’ll be back later after a tour around the park.  Need to take the trash.   So I’m back in Daisy now.  My walk was about 35 minutes!  My “rings” won’t yell at me today I hope!!!!!  So I took a video that is being uploaded right now so I’ll add it when it is done.  I remember this park now from B & C’s and my trip to Arizona the FIRST time I drove across country!

The trees here are dripping with Spanish Moss – so beautiful!  My walk was before the sun broke through the mist so it was really comfortable.  The sun is out now and it’s warming up somewhat, although as I sit here doing this it is comfortable with my shorts on.  I think I’ll probably put out my awning to keep that side of the rig in the shade.  I might even set up my new camp chair and open the door so Metaxa can sit on the “screened in porch”.  Right now she’s up in the bed looking down and out the window.  I took a video of her on the back of the couch that I’ll add too later after it gets uploaded.

This is the bath house on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain at this State Park.  It’s old fashioned inside but this Park is really pretty neat.  The video will show some of it.  There are cabins down the street from the campground that I want to walk down to look at later on.  I’ll need to get out and do that later today, since I’m keeping busy and I don’t want to get stiff by just staying in the rig and blogging.

Here is the pier at Lake Pontchartrain.  Let me go back and find the picture of Bill and me on the pier.

This picture was taken in November and it was COLD.  It’s beautiful here today.  It’s 76 degrees!  It was probably 50 or so that day!  Still trying to upload my video – it’s at 67% now – it’s been an hour!!!!  Finally!  Here it is:

So now I’m downloading my second video which is only a little over a minute of Metaxa on the couch.  Once that is done, I’m going to go sit in my NEW camp chair and eat lunch.  It’s an amazing life I’m living and thanks for following and supporting me.

First time setting up my new chair.  Looks like Daisy is a Food Truck like this!    Here is the video of Metaxa being curious!

So I just got this picture from Cathy.  Bill is checking out my house.  Best home inspector EVER!!!!!

Is that a crawl space Bill is entering? Where did you get that cool camping chair? I decided to close the office. Volunteers weren’t coming in. Nothing happening anyway. I’ll let the steering committee know I’ve closed. Its amazing what I get away with!
