Ms. Days Ease RV Life #115

Good Morning Fellow COVID 19 Survivors! Today is Thursday, March 26, 2020. I am staying a second day and night at Guadalupe River State Park in Spring Branch, Texas. Yesterday was a very LONG drive – I miscalculated but this morning I decided that this really was a good thing to do. Not only is it the nicest State Park I’ve ever been in, it allowed me to bypass San Antonio. Which if you remember from my trip to Florida a few weeks ago, was a nail biter. Construction EVERYWHERE – I HATE THOSE BARRIERS along the highway when I’m in Daisy. It was also the time that I thought I caught a stone in my brakes. It happened again this trip. I pulled in for gas and as I was walking back to the toilet I heard the noise again. Come to find out, it was the ladder up to the bed. It had come off the bar and was squeaking. So now I know that it happens when I hit a bump and then can hop back on by itself when I hit another bump! Problem solved! I’m solving lots of problems in this rig! Love that!

I am uploading a video of my walk this morning. So far it’s at 40%. I’ll put it up when it finishes. In the meantime, here are a few pictures. This place is so amazing! Finally!

I hope it is clearer than it looks at first.

Right now, the internet is rebelling. I’ll come back when it gets stronger. Don’t forget to come back!

I really liked the walk to the river – I may go back later. It was a 45 minute walk this morning, but once the sun comes out, it will probably get too hot for me and I’ll be in Daisy with the AC on. I just turned on the AC – it’s 2:30 PM and I just got back from the shower. I decided to take my shower today rather than in the morning. That will allow me to leave around 8AM. I’ll just be 2 stops away from my new life in Benson! So excited!

So here are a couple of more pictures from today. Still waiting for the video but it’s at 75% now and I think the internet is stronger because I was able to download the picture of the Texas Lantana – I learned that at the “Discovery Center” here at the park. They had a little garden with labels for all of the plants. The center was closed because of the Coronavirus but when it is open, it has a cute little door for kids to crawl through and they give out back packs to the kids with tools to do exploring in the park. What a neat idea!

The hill down to the river was much steeper than this picture indicates and it was in bad shape so I’m glad I scoped it out before I drove Daisy down there. But when I was walking back, there was a bigger Class C that came into the parking area so I’m sure Daisy would have been fine!

Once I got down to the river I was really amazed and the video will show you how beautiful it is down here. I sat on the shore of the river and watched a few people fishing. Makes me think how peaceful it would be to live by a beautiful river like this. The water is crystal clear. I noticed as I traveled over I 10 that most of the rivers (the Mississippi, the Colorado (could that be THE Colorado river?) and others) look really muddy. I’m sure at some point the Guadalupe is muddy too, but not here:

I took a break and just enjoyed the solitude:

Resting by the River

Here is another picture of the riverside. I think the tree is a weeping willow – or at least something like one. It’s got spring leaves on it and looks so cool!

Weeping Willow?

The Video is almost done!

So Bill and Cathy sent me this picture yesterday:

It’s a short cut between their house and mine.  Love it!  But they may be too unsteady for me.  I guess we could put in a railing :-)!
