Hello fellow stay at homers practicing Social Distancing! Random thoughts today. I’m just two more overnights and then I’ll be home in BENSON! So EXCITED! I have arrived at an empty Ft. Stockton RV Park. At least it was pretty empty when I got here:

So I guess, I was the first one in this afternoon and no one was here. Subsequently, 10 more RV’s have made it in and they keep on coming! So when I thought it was all about ME as these two pictures show:
To my left:
To my right:
When I was driving on the highway, I kept thinking that traffic was pretty slim. Of course I was driving 60 in an 80, so people and trucks would catch up to me, breeze by, and then I’d be alone again until the next one came. It felt like I was the only one on the highway at times. I got gas right before I arrived at Ft. Stockton at Ozona and this was the weirdass gas station:
I got off the highway and drove to the Sunoco that was advertised with $1.99 gas. It was down a road, past an RV park (looked like oil worker group – not vacationers) and then I found the pumps. Totally empty! Of course I had to go in to get my receipt, but I just took a picture instead. I wasn’t going in – no way!
I started my day this morning at 6AM my time and made it to the 7AM New Dawn Meeting on ZOOM. It was a great way to start my day since it was still dark out and I couldn’t leave for a couple of hours anyway. So I might do that again tomorrow. Morning Reflections has started a ZOOM meeting too so I might start going to that when I get to Benson. Once this social distancing is over – I’ll go to the Clubhouse in Benson. But right now, these ZOOM meetings are GREAT!!!
My neighbor now! So when I first got here and the place was empty, they assigned me Site #8. I drive out to it and am confused – as usual – as to which site I had. I thought that my site was a “drive through short cut” but after looking at the map I realized that it wasn’t a cut through and everyone is supposed to go to the end of the row to get out. But at one point, I figured I’d just take #9 because no one was here and who cares, but I’m glad I rethought it and plugged in where I was supposed to. It would have been a bit embarrassing if I was in the wrong site and a big ole travel trailer came in like that one!
So the Roadrunner Cafe is open for Take Out and I’m going to get a Cheese Burger and FF. I’m also going to buy 2 extra Chocolate Ice Creams!
SO this just happened: The man to my right now – here is his rig:
He just drove in next to me and came over and “struck” up a conversation – I was in my rig, he was 6 feet away by my window. His name is Forrest. He was admiring my Born Free – he had a 27′ one and now he has the Sprinter. He’s a widower (Rich!) his wife died 2 years ago and he is from New Hampshire going back there now from a “caravan” to Mexico. He said it was a great experience and he really enjoyed it. That is something I may get into one of these days. Very nice guy!
So now I’m feeling the same “vibration” that I was feeling when I was at Sam Houston Jones State Park because the big “Imagine” next to me is running his A/C or generator. It is shaking the ground – I swear! But also I still have “road legs” kind of like sea legs from being on a boat. I’m hoping that it will pass soon. It did at the State Park.
So tonight I took Take Out from the Roadrunner Cafe. Celebrating a meal “out” for the first time in many days!
Not at all healthy! I’ll probably regret it! Anyway, this was my meal the last time I was here – when the restaurant was open:
Much healthier! I think I have a fly in here! Hopefully – Metaxa will catch it! I don’t have a fly swatter. Need to get that! Put it on my list! Now that I only have one stop left before Benson, I realize I’m doing great with food! I’ll even have some left so I can stay in Daisy for a few days recovering before I need to go to WALMART in Otis2! BTW – just rescued the fly out the window. Mission accomplished.
Oh yes – let’s not forget this: FREE ICE CREAM (I bought 2 extra)
Speaking of Mission Accomplished – GM is going to produce ventilators now that we’ve surpassed other countries with this COVID 19! Which reminds me – that “19” means that this started in 2019 (December or sometime) and why did it take until MARCH 2020 to get this thing in the news in America? That really stinks. No wonder the roads are empty! Perhaps I was just too self absorbed to realize there was an issue until then. But really – no wonder we’re behind the “8” Ball!
I’m listening to MSNBC which is keeping up with what is really happening in this country since our president is so NOT doing that. I know it’s biased, but it is very sad for our country. Enough for now. See you next time. Only 2 more driving days and then I can really relax and stay at home!!!!!!

Don’t they have electric hook ups there. Why do people run generators? I would hate that! You’re making great progress. Yea, I wouldn’t try those steps your brother rigged..
