Ms. Days Ease RV Life #119

Good Morning everyone.  Today is Monday, March 30, 2020.  I’m plugged in and settled in Benson, AZ now.  The sun is coming up behind me through the bathroom window and it is 44 degrees out and 61 degrees in Daisy.  I used the radiator last night for the first time in a month – the AC was what I was using during that time.  I prefer the cooler temperatures.  Today is laundry day – time to get some clean clothes.  I got up really early because (Bill Bass please note) I got a text at 3:45 AM from a friend in Naples as it was 6:45 there!  Anyway, now I get it!  But it was good because in the past I’d been awakened here by the trains and I haven’t heard them since being here.  Wonder if this location is farther away from the trains than when I was at SKP Seguaro RV Park.  Don’t really know.  Then again with this countrywide shut down, maybe the trains aren’t as busy.  I did notice yesterday on I 10 that mostly trucks and RV’s were traveling and the road wasn’t all that busy, so I hope that people are taking this pandemic seriously now.  Last night I saw on FOX (the only channel I can get right now on the TV) that they had an iHeart Concert from livingrooms around the country hosted by Elton John.  It was pretty good and a nice diversion.

So continuing on with the pictures of my new “empty” home here in Benson:

This is the laundry room without equipment.  I’ll need to purchase those at some point.  Not in a rush yet.  Love the hanging area and the cabinets for storage.  They are pretty “high” so I’ll need a step ladder in there to get to them, but it’s nice to have cabinets to keep from seeing all of the soap etc.  I want to research types of washers and dryers because I was used to having the “noise” outside in the garage in Naples.  Now they’ll be inside.  I think I can close off the area so that should help with noise, but who knows – something else to learn!

This is a picture of my front porch from my side yard where Daisy will living when we aren’t on the road!  I can reach an extension cord to the outlet on the far end of the deck.  I think it will reach!  To be determined!

This house has been on the market for about 2 years – Bill and Cathy have been watching it, as that was when their house was bought.  Here is the date my driveway was poured:

No one has lived in this house.  I am the first owner and I’m so excited about this.  I don’t think I’ve been in a “new house” since Beirne and I bought a house in Naples Bath & Tennis in probably 1975 or so.  When I redid my bathrooms and kitchen in Naples, I felt really good about the upgrade, but still it wasn’t a “new” house!  I love the flooring in my new place.  It won’t show as much as the white tile did in Naples.  But I did love that tile.  Now that I only have one kitty, there will be less cat hair which will be nice.  I think I’ll be able to just do some “dusting” around the house which is pretty easy.  It would be nice not to have to use the “noisy” vacuum.  But when I use it, I’ll hopefully have Metaxa out on the “screened in” porch once that is done.

Look……….a brand new oven!  This range is GAS so I’ll need to figure out the oven, although I don’t use my oven all that much – but that could change since I’ll be cooking more – at least this is a possibility!  Now look at all those drawers!  WOW!

Here are my sinks!

This is a picture of the “sold” sign.  Those two windows are the master bedroom windows.  The large brick wall hides the large AC/Heater unit.  Since it isn’t humid here – I think the unit will stay “healthier” here.  Lots of great things going on here in Arizona.  Time to get rolling now.  I may add to this later so come back to check!

So Spring has sprung in Arizona.  Ever since I’ve been here, these Ocotillos have been just empty sticks.  Well this is what they look like with leaves:

SO COOL!  I’m going to go on a walk now to go visit my house!  See you later!
