Ms. Days Ease RV Life #132 4/22/20

Good Morning COVID-19 Warriors!  Today is Wednesday, April 22, 2020.  I got up an hour early for the 8AM meeting so when I logged on at 4:03 AM my time, I was the only one there!  So Today I will definitely need a NAP!  But it gave me time to study the Daily Reflections and the 24 Hour a Day book before the meeting, make my bed, pay off my credit card and make the coffee.  So time wasn’t wasted!  Plus I could start this blog!

Bill S, you’ll be proud of me!  I bought 2 plants for the new house.  Here is the palm in the sun on my porch.  I’ve taken my bike off of the porch (under the black cover) so now the porch looks better.  But I loved this palm in the sun!  Later in the afternoon here, it was “blowing like stink” and this palm held it’s own – the pot is heavy and there are stones in the dirt, so I think it will withstand the wind out there.  Time will tell.  The afternoon winds here can be brutal!

I also got a Bonsai Tree:

I have two of these porcelain pots, so I think I’ll get another plant – cat friendly – and put another plant in there.  I also have two other colorful planters that are on the window sill of the kitchen.  I may get a couple of small cacti for those – not sure in case Metaxa decides she wants to go sniff them.  So far – she is pretty good about not eating the plants.  By now Domino would have eaten the entire Bonsai plant if he was still around!  This house has so many more windows in it so the light into the house is better than it was in Naples.

We did a lot yesterday.  I hooked up OTIS2 to Daisy and took him around the block.  I didn’t get any pictures of the process so I’ll need to hook him up again and try it again.  Bill and Cathy supervised!  I need to practice it again by myself because I’ll be doing it on my own in the future.  SO I’ll try it again, plus I need to work on backing Daisy into her spot.  That is pretty hard right now, but Bill put a long pole at the electrical box so I can see it better from the rear view mirror.  I just need to convince myself that there is a LOT of room between the carport and the electrical box.  I’ll take a picture of how close she is to that today.

We also put up 6 pictures and my “memory” shelf.  I love how they look! I’ll get pictures of them when the sun comes up and the meeting is over.

This is something else I found a place for:

This electric plug cover I’ve had for many years.  I bought it at The Lady from Haiti on Fifth Avenue in Naples.  I loved that store.  I bought a few other things there also.  These things are made from Steel drums and they are so colorful.  I have 2 geckos and a crab that I’ll be putting out on my AC wall in front of the house.  All in good time.  I’m going to the meeting now – I’ll be back with more pictures later.

GREAT MEETING!  So glad I went to it!

So here are a couple of “accomplishments” from yesterday:

I love this little shelf of memories.  Check out the bronzed baby shoes on the top!  So funny.   A couple of the wooden sculptures (the one behind the screen and the one at top left) were my mom’s from her trips to visit Jon in Chile and Costa Rica!

So this morning, I opened the windows out to the porch and Metaxa loves sitting on the window sill.  The window sills here are wide, wooden sills.  Plenty of room for her to sit and watch the birds and neighborhood “goings on”!

So in addition to the shelf installation, I had Bill hang some pictures.  He does it meticulously and uses a “level” and measures where to put the nails.  I think I can put most of the other pictures up because there are no “groupings”  except the big Vallez prints, but I may not group them together here.  They worked as a great grouping in Naples on the wall from the kitchen to the living room because it was a shorter wall.  My wall here is really long and I’m not sure how I’m going to put things up.  Plus I have no idea how I’m going to put up the “wall of shame” and where that is going to be placed.  Anyway, lot’s of time to figure that out.  I’m going to keep the pictures in the closet for a while.  I’m tired of opening cardboard boxes and “mirror” packs.  Plenty of time to get that done!  Here is one of the groupings from yesterday!

These are pictures by Steve Vaughn.  I bought them at the Art Show on 5th Avenue.  There is a picture of the Overseas Highway, Naples Pier & some concrete pylons in the Gulf with seagulls sitting on them.  Here is the second grouping:

These are beautiful pictures by Roy Trueblood that I bought at the Art Show also.  They are of the Everglades.  I just love them too!

So something is going on in the land between me on the right and my neighbor – lots of trucks and steam shovel.  Maybe they are planning on bringing in a new house!  That will be fun to watch.

I found this at Lowe’s.  I’m going to try it for under the carport.  Bill said he needed to attach it to the wall of his house because of the winds.  I’ll let him help me with that when it gets here.  They may be gone by the time it gets here, but we’ll see:

It is like the ones I had in Naples which I left for the new owners.  I don’t think I’ll put the feet on it.  I’d like it flush to the floor.  We’ll see how it goes once it gets here.  I know I’ll need to put it together.  I hope I can do it myself.  Another wait and see.

I think I’ll end this now.  Time to go for a walk down to the trash and Mail box.  I think that is going to be my routine from now on.  At least I’m going to try that.  Have a great day today and thanks for visiting.  In the meantime, Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet!
