Good Morning COVID-19 Warriors! Today is Sunday, April 26, 2020. Yesterday Jackie celebrated 26 years! AMAZING! Congratulations! I went to the Morning Reflections meeting this morning and I was a couple of minutes late so I missed that announcement, but Alan mentioned it so I looked on my calendar and there it was. I need to fix that so that it gives me a reminder the day before at least!
Another thing I’ve noticed about being here in Arizona is that it is nice and cool in the mornings. It’s 57 degrees outside right now and I have my windows open. Once it hits 80, I’ll close them and let the AC take over. It got to 89 yesterday. But I did go for a nice bike ride around 5:30PM which may become a habit. It’s after the Naples Group ZOOM meeting so I can still go to that and then get in a little exercise. There is a road down the entrance to my place that is a “road to nowhere” or really to the water tower and it is a nice safe place to ride up and down. It looks like they were going to try to develop the land but never did but the road is in good shape. I have noticed here also that it is brutal driving or riding at sunset. It is really hard to see. I noticed that first when I was trying to get Daisy home from Del’s. I couldn’t see to get on the road to take HWY 90 home so I had to turn and go the back way. It was pretty nerve-racking.
I want to go to the Desert Museum. I may do that today, we’ll see. Sean from Toronto mentioned it and I have a ticket to enter from Bill and Cathy. I may wait a little because the cacti are just beginning to bloom and it may be better to go in May which would be next Saturday or Sunday.
So I’ve noticed that many of my neighbors have rose bushes here and they all seem to be blooming now. Here is a picture of one I noticed on my walk the other day:
My neighbor around the corner has a bunch of beautiful plants along with lots of other vegetables. He asked me if I wanted anything and I said, sure I’ll take some kale. Well, I got a bag full of nice kale and now I don’t know what to do with it. I may just chop it up and put it in some Progresso soup I have. Or it might just go bad before I do anything with it. I need to grab my Instant Pot out of Daisy and bring it into the house. I should learn to use it which would be nice!
I also put up a couple of pictures yesterday. I open up the picture packs each day in the morning before the wind starts blowing so that I can walk the cardboard up to the cardboard trailer. It’s always a surprise to open them up, but I did find these two pictures: My Arsenault:
They were over the couch in Naples, but there are windows over the couch here. I like the location of them. I don’t think I’ll be able to put everything up on the walls here. I will probably give some things away. I finally took the printer outside and put it under the awning. I hate to just toss it into the dumpster. It would be great if someone would be able to get it to work. But I sure couldn’t.
So last night I went out after dark and took a picture of my Flaming Flamingos:
I also took a video. One of the things in my part of the neighborhood is a HUGE American Flag. It was flying last night in the wind and I think you can see it a little in this video – I think they need a brighter light on it at night, but whatever:
I also decided to put up my Useppa Island picture. It has always been in my den so I decided to put it on the wall in here. The walls in this home are smaller so things look bigger here. But I’ll get used to it.
I also put the picture I had out on my front porch in Naples. It was painted by someone at Moorings Park. I always liked it.
I think I’ll go and get some things done now. I may be back to add to this as the day progresses. But if I don’t, Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet. Thanks for visiting!
