Good Morning Everyone! Hope you are surviving this COVID-19 craziness and you aren’t going to shoot bleach in your veins! My cousin Dick sent me this hilarious video about why it is OK to open the Jacksonville Beaches:
I’m not sure if it will work, we’ll see if it downloads. It’s so funny! I’ll keep trying to get it. I’ll probably need to put the full link in for you to see it:

Today I get my cable Internet installed between 1 and 3. We’ll see how that goes. But I did break down yesterday and bought this:
It’s a VIZIO TV. TV’s have gotten so cheap – this one from WALMART was only $288! It is like the one I gave away in Naples, but it’s “Smarter”. It has all kinds of streaming apps and I can get it to turn on by ALEXA. I’ve set up Netflix and Amazon Prime. There are a lot of extra features too. I’ve set it up with my MIFI right now, but once the cable internet is set, it will be using that and I can retire the MIFI to Daisy for use on the road. I think at times “why get COX internet when I have the Verizon MIFI?” Not sure really – it will cost $60 a month vs $20, but then if I want to add the local TV channels later on, I can do that easily. Eventually when I don’t do as much camping, I’ll probably want more TV channels. We’ll see. Just taking it one day at a time and trying to get through this pandemic.
It’s 67 degrees outside this morning – it’s warming up considerably. It was in the 90’s yesterday. It does feel different without humidity. My sunrise was beautiful today. I didn’t get up in time to make it to Morning Reflections!
I also bought a rose bush yesterday at Walmart. I’ve noticed that my neighbors here have a lot of rose bushes so I thought I would try it. I haven’t planted it yet outside – plan to do that later – but I did cut a rose with a couple of buds on it for inside:
I think the rose is so pretty and it has a good smell! We’ll see how it goes once I plant it in the yard.
I also found the perfect plant for the kitchen window sill. African Violets – reminds me of my mom – she always had them in the house and Dick tells me so did his mom – SISTERS!
I’ve been told – thank you Suzee – that they don’t take much care and should be fine by themselves. Time will tell about all the plants I have. Anyway, it gives me some satisfaction to be doing this. I gave up plants in the house because of the cats, but Metaxa doesn’t seem to mind them and doesn’t eat them like Domino did. She is curious and has bitten the Bonsai and the other plant – need to get a picture of it, but doesn’t continuously go after it. Right now she is looking out the open window:
She loves being “outside” and right now this is the closest she gets!
The plants I bought at WALMART here are really healthy. I never had much luck with plants from WALMART or Home Depot for that matter in Naples. I would buy them and they would die. I know it had something to do with the fact that I didn’t take care of them, but I think I’ll see how these go here in Arizona – maybe I’ll have a new hobby!
Yesterday she was in the window making all kinds of noise and when I went over there to check it out, this is what she was excited about:
This was a big lizard! Even Bill came over and took a picture of it! Metaxa used to catch the lizards in Florida, but if she tried to catch this one, I’m not sure what would have happened. Once I get the screen porch done, we’ll see if she gets them. I’m rethinking the screened enclosure right now. It’s getting pretty hot and I don’t know how much we would have the door open, maybe in the morning or in the evening – not sure right now. Not going to worry about it. There have been enough purchases for a while! Plus I have all the time in the world – no need to rush!
Walked by my neighbors the other day and this is what a blooming Ocotillo looks like:
Until Spring, these plants are just brown, empty sticks. It will be interesting to see how long they stay green. All kinds of things to learn out here in the wild, wild west!
I started watching the “National Parks by Ken Burns” on Prime the other night. Started watching it on my iPad. Last night I watched Episode 2 on my BIG SCREEN! It was great. This morning, picked up this picture from Mike Wendling (YouTuber I follow):
This picture was at Yosemite! Look at that beautiful waterfall and the Coyote is enjoying the solitude in the parking lot! Can’t wait to take Daisy there. But the series on PBS about the National Parks is really great and I’m learning a lot and realize why Bill and Cathy love Yellowstone so much! It’s the first National Park – the National Parks System is certainly one thing America got right. We were the first to designate land for the use of all citizens. America has the most land set aside for us to use and enjoy. I’m looking forward to going up to the Grand Canyon also. So many places to explore! Can’t Wait!!!!!
Life is good! Thanks for visiting and remember: Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet!
