Ms. Days Ease RV Life #136 4/29/20

Good Morning Everyone beating the COVID-19 lockdown!  I’m up this morning to go to the 8AM Morning Reflections meeting and got up too early, but instead of going back to sleep, I decided to start my blog.  It is 31 days of self quarantine.  I haven’t had any trouble going to the store or ACE since I’ve been back, but that is about all I have done.  But it worked out well because I got everything unpacked and most of my art hung.  The last few pieces are leaning up against the wall and just need to be hung – I’ve had some success with just “eyeballing” the location.  This is one of the places I finished up yesterday:

In Naples, the convention pictures were above the toilet with a little window in between them.  So I changed it up a bit.  I also hung the lanyards I wore in 2010 and 2015.  They cancelled the 2020 International Convention in Detroit this year due to this virus.  I had signed up – still waiting for my refund, but I did get the hotel room refunded so that was good.  I vacillated about going to Detroit anyway.  I wasn’t sure where I would be in Daisy and didn’t see any places close by to camp, plus I would have Metaxa with me so staying in Daisy and getting into the convention center didn’t seem very doable so I was happy when they canceled.  But I’m sure there are many disappointed AA’s who were looking forward to the convention.  I wonder if they will wait another 5 years or just move it to 2021.  Guess time will tell.

Finally got my shower curtain from Wayfair – it was delayed a couple of weeks!

I think it goes well with the valence and the counter top and it does the job of hiding my ladder and mop.  So I’ll be able to use that space to put my “big things” until I decide to build a shed – probably in a few years – not sure I need it – we’ll see about that!

Speaking of counter top – I love this counter top!  It is really amazing – it doesn’t show any water spots or other stains.  It has a bit of a texture so I don’t know what the product is but it is pretty effortless which is something I like.

OK, back to the “Artwork”:

This is a Vallez of the Old Naples Hotel which was situated on a spot in the parking lot of Third Street South Shopping Center, in the day.  I can’t remember what happened to it – did it burn down or was it a hurricane?  Anyway, I have 5 Vallez prints.  The one that matches this one I put here:

I really like it here in the bathroom.  The other 2 Vallez prints are on the floor waiting for me to hang them.  The only other pictures I haven’t hung are the family pictures.  They were like this in Naples:

My Family Tree

It’s fun going back through my pictures in the media gallery – it takes me back many years.  This picture from Naples is not how it finally ended up but you get the idea.  I was saying to Suzan the other day that I didn’t think I had a wall to put all 3 pictures of me and Jon & Bill so she suggested I give them their pictures back.  Bill has his and I’ll need to mail Jon’s back to him.  I’ll get to that “someday” – now he is in the closet!

I did finally tackle the Family Wall:

So I found a new spot for this picture:

That picture was in the kitchen.  I’ve had it for many years – Beirne and I bought it in Key West at least 40 years ago!  I still love the look of it – reminds me of Key West!

I also put pictures up in the bathroom as the one above shows!  I didn’t think I was going to put those up again here, but I’m glad I did!  I ended up putting all of the pictures up on the wall – even the Betty Mill’s picture:

You can see the new scratching post I got for Metaxa.  She hasn’t discovered it yet.  I’ll have to see if I have any catnip to put on it.  It’s like the one I have in Daisy for her and she loves that one!

Here is another picture of my bathroom that shows all of the pictures in there:

I put the metal wreath on my front door that faces Bill and Cathy’s house.  The blue in it matches the color of the house!  Amazing how that works:

So now my house feels like a “home” to me.  I guess it’s pretty selfish, but I really do love my “stuff” and so glad it all fits here.  So now that I’m mostly done with all of this work inside the house, it’s time to get a new routine with exercising each morning before it gets too hot, so off I go now.  Thanks for visiting today!  Remember:  Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet!
