Good Morning Monday, December 15, 2014

Hello Everyone,

So today is MONDAY!  I had a wonderful weekend.  My brother Bill and his wife Cathy are in town and we spent the day together.  It was GREAT!  They came to church with me and that started the day off well.  They followed me home afterward  in their BIG GRAY TRUCK!  Let’s see if I can get a picture of it somewhere: (I didn’t take any pictures yesterday – can’t believe that!)

Home sweet home on the road.

Home sweet home on the road.

I got this picture from her timeline on FB.  So we were talking about how invisible you could become if you wanted to, but now that I have this blog and I am active on FB, there is no way to disappear.  But they have the closest thing to that.  Half the time their phone doesn’t work.  Bill has to set up a “satellite” dish to get internet, but it works out in the wilderness.  But as far as the phone is concerned, I heard on “Intelligence for your Life” that the phones we have now are not used just for phone calls – it is actually 5 or 6 on the list.  We mostly use phones to “text”, remind us through calendars, alarms to wake us up etc.  Funny how we couldn’t talk on the phone on Saturday but we could “text” phone to phone.  They don’t TEXT!  Imagine that, but they figured it out and that was how we communicated.  Also we “SKYPED” – that was really a clear connection.  So they got to see my new house.  I was glad they got a chance to see it.  Then they gave me my “family calendar” (Early Christmas present) and also this:

This says "Merry" on it! Merry Christmas!

This says “Merry” on it! Merry Christmas!

They showed me their work life in Yellowstone.  Cathy is a “trainer” and Bill sets up the computer room so she can do her “training” and then they work in the campground for the “season”.  I think it’s amazing.  Bill is a bit of a computer geek (must run in the family) so he does this wonderful “end of season” video each year, showing all of the events of the season with pictures and videos and music.  The one for this year was 47 minutes.  It was AMAZING.  He figured out how to “download” it on my computer so I have it now (if I can figure out where it is) but they’ve sent it to me on a disk in the past along with the calendar they make for our family.  So next year – remember – make one more disk and send it to me for Christmas so I can see how you spent the year.  I love doing that on Christmas morning!

Now onto other things.  We talked about “Wheat Belly” again.  They both look fantastic!  Slimmer than I’ve ever seen them which got my attention.  They both lost weight by cutting out “wheat” and Bill got off his BP meds and cholesterol meds.  Fortunately I don’t need to take any of that stuff, but I would like to get rid of my “wheat belly” so I downloaded the book (the full version this time) from Amazon to my Kindle and started reading it last night.  Put me to sleep!  But I’m thinking about not watching as much TV so I’ll stay up – not in bed – and read the book.  Someone told me a story about a 99 year old physician that was still very active and one of the things he did was get rid of his TV.  I’m in the “habit” of watching the 6:30 News and the 6:00 Local news when I get home from work.  So the first thing I’m gonna do is stop doing that.  The doctor reminded us that the news is so depressing and causes depression in people, so I’m going to stop watching so much TV.  I’ll let you know how that goes.

I also bought this on Amazon:

I'm gonna get my cats to exercise!

It’s a green laser pointer.  I know I’ll get them engaged with this.  Especially my “jumper” Metaxa.   Here she is:

Such a sweet cat!

Too Cute!

It took her a while to come out yesterday when Bill and Cathy were here but she finally did.

Next we drove out to where they are “parked” this week in the Big Cypress Reserve.  It took us an hour to drive there from my house.  Bill and Cathy have the most luxurious 5th Wheel.  It has a little “kitchen island”, two leather couches, hard wood flooring, corian counter tops, a huge back bedroom with room for a dresser and closets and a huge big screen TV like mine.  I’m gonna go out and stay with them!  Maybe I should try to do that after work on Friday – they are leaving on Saturday.  Then I could drive home while they go on their way to the Panhandle.  Anyway, we had grilled salmon and the most wonderful mashed cauliflower (took the place of mashed potatoes) and it was wonderful – shocking!  So now I’m on the search for a George Foreman grill and a food processer.  Of course I’m going to go to Goodwill or St. Matt’s to get that instead of paying “retail” for it.  They gave me that idea too.  I keep forgetting that I should do that!  So since I’ve saved $1400 on my car, I guess I’ll spend a little of that for “Christmas” – see how a crazy mind works!  Keep on comin’ back as they say “in the rooms”.

Speaking of “In the Rooms”, the Young People are having a NYE Party at the 24 Hour Club.  It starts at 10PM – REALLY?????   Anyway, here is the poster – pretty snazzy.

For the Young People and those "young at heart".

It is on the aanaples.org website now on the Calendar.  They are trying to raise some money for their bid to bring ICYPAA to Florida this year.  I think they “won the bid” and now they are trying to get some $$ to help the process along.  My $15 donation will be given, but I won’t be in attendance.  I’m definitely in bed by that time on NYE.

Made it to 1000 words and now I’m out of time.  Have a beautiful day and wonderful week.  I know I will!  Thanks for visiting!
