Good Morning Everyone! How is it going in this age of PANDEMIC? Today is Saturday, May 16, 2020. It’s laundry day and wash has started and it’s 6AM. Coffee is brewing. This is a later start for me because I don’t have the 8AM meeting to get up for so I take a shower and wash my hair on non-meeting days. So I moved Daisy:
It will be easier to get out on the road from here. But there is a bit of a glitch. When Bill and Cathy left, they had their water turned off and on Monday, Daisy is supposed to have a bath and wax job. So today, my project is to hook up my hose to their hoses and hope that they reach around well enough so Brad can do his thing. It’s always good to have a project out here! If I need more hose, I have the one in Daisy to use, plus a collapsible green one so that should be enough! Brad is coming at 5AM on Monday so I’ll need to make sure he knows where the water is coming from! I’ll try to call him and talk to him, but we usually just leave messages. I should be up though because that is a meeting morning.
Speaking of projects, I made crock pot (slow cooker) lasagna yesterday:
I knew this little island was going to be GREAT! I first used my instant pot to brown up the meat (ground beef and hot turkey sausage) and onions and then simmer it with the tomato sauce. Then I lined the crock pot with a special slow cooker liner – GAME CHANGER!! Once I had all of the cheese mixture ready to spread in layers, lasagna was born! Ended up with 6 dinners from this recipe. Put 4 in the freezer, ate one last night – delicious! And I have one more in the fridge for later this week. The GAME CHANGER came when I just picked up the liner and just tossed it in the trash – no cleaning out of the crock pot. It was AMAZING! I just cooled it off and put it away! Guess I’ll be cooking more now! I love less mess!
The containers are the turkey and ham containers I get when I have that for sandwiches. They are the perfect size for one portion. Ain’t life grand!
So the other night this happened:
This sunset was from my front porch looking over Bill’s storage trailer to the west. My sunrises over the mountains are pretty great too! I see the sun come up from my den window most mornings while checking emails on the computer. It’s really beautiful out here. It’s just as beautiful in Naples too – especially when the sun goes down at the beach, but it’s pretty neat out here too!
So Bill and Cathy are on their way to YNP which I mentioned in my last blog. I’m tracking their progress so if I decide to go visit them in Yellowstone this summer, I’ll know the route. Here is their first stop:
Along the way, they saw this:
And this:
Now that is something that you don’t see in Florida! As I am following their route to YNP, I realized that there are so many parks along that route! Zion NP, Grand Canyon NP and a little further to the east, Arches NP. So many great opportunities out here to visit National Parks! I’m so excited! My SMART TV has “Curiositystream.com” on it and I bought a year for $12 – and over the last few nights I’ve been watching a BBC Documentary about Yellowstone – it was 3 parts, Winter, Summer, Autumn. It was an amazing series about each of those seasons. I was amazed at the filming – it was so beautiful and the footage of the animals was spectacular – now I really have an appreciation of why Bill and Cathy love it there so much!
So their next stop was:
Love the mountain view!
So I’m going to screen in my front porch so that Metaxa can go out and be on the “catio”. These guys are working on the project:
Dennis and Bubba! Bubba, if you remember was the guy that fixed my water problem when I first came into the house. Bill helped him – thank you BILL! You can see that I’m tracing Bill and Cathy’s trip to YNP on the dining room table. I never had a spot to do that in Naples. Love being “minimized”, although I still have too much “STUFF”!
Bought this for the window:
It even shows a kitty walking through it like Metaxa! It should be arriving on Monday. My window is 27 inches so it should fit “just right”! Metaxa will learn to use it right away. She is so smart – she did it in Naples. It has a plastic door to close it off so she can’t get out at night or when I’m not there. I’m going to get her a tower to play on so she can have a place to sleep out there if she wants. She’ll probably just sleep in the camp chair, but it will also give her something to “scratch” on.
Well it’s 8AM now so time to get rolling. Thanks for visiting! Come back again! Remember: Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet!
