Today is the day that we have a Health Fair at work. We have our Health Risk Assessment which lets us have the cheapest rate on our insurance costs if we have a good result. Last year all was fine, so I’m guessing this year will be the same. We need to have 500 points accumulated throughout the year in order to get the best rate. Last year I had more so I’m at the best price now. So I need to fast for at least 2 hours, but I’m having coffee this morning because I MUST! So that’s all there is about that!
Last night I went to Jail. On the second Wednesday of the month I go to the jail and take an AA meeting in. Last night I was the only one there for a while and decided I wouldn’t go in by myself, but luckily Melanie showed up and we went in. It was a great meeting. We let the girls share and most of them were in “Project Recovery” so they knew the program and “How it Works”. The girls who handle the “cell dogs” were there but they don’t stay for the meeting, they take the dogs out. They are all Golden Retrievers and a couple of them are real puppies – so adorable. That seems like a great program. We take a meeting on Sunday nights just for that group. Anyway, for me, I get a lot out of this program and I’m glad I’m involved. I was telling them that I stay sober by service work and that I”m the Grapevine Chair. They then asked about getting more copies of the Grapevine because they like to read it. That was good to hear. They said they keep reading the same one over and over and would like other copies. I said I’d check into it as we provide 10 copies each month, so it is a mystery.
