Good Morning COVID-19 Warriors! Happy Birthday Alcoholics Anonymous! It’s the 85th Anniversary of AA TODAY! YAY! Congratulations to all of my friends in AA. Happy, Joyous, & Free!
Yesterday, life got to be pretty normal for me. I unhooked OTIS2 and we went on an adventure to Jerome, AZ. It was almost like there wasn’t a pandemic! The road to Jerome was pretty curvey and I was glad I didn’t try it in Daisy! Here is a video of it:
While in Jerome, I kept thinking about Beaches (my 4 High School girlfriends I travel with on occasion). We always go “shopping” and they love it, me not so much. But yesterday was different. I think it was because I’ve not done anything like this for 4 months!!! Anyway I discovered Bridget from Switzerland. She had the cutest boutique and I parked right outside her shop for free – all other parking was not free. So I left Otis in front of her shop:
This town was built into the side of the mountain. It’s really incredible. Here is Bridget coming to my car to install the pretty heart crystal on my mirror. She did it with a length of chain:
Look at that Scandinavian BLOND hair! She was so great!
Here is what the inside of her shop looked like:
I bought one of those hanging sculptures. Here it is hanging in Daisy. It is an optical illusion and so beautiful! I also bought a magnet for my fridge in Benson and the beautiful crystal for my mirror. Her stuff was AMAZING! Beaches would have gone bonkers over this shop!
It is really pretty when it spins. I also have a little motor I can attach to it to make it spin. Not sure I’ll use that in Daisy because it hangs down too far.
Here is a picture of a side street in Jerome. You can see how it overlooks the valley. So amazing:
Then I discovered this little side street shop. I went there originally because they had a couple of chairs in the shade to sit in. Then I went inside and it was a “hippy haven” with all kinds of sculls and crossbones. The oldest hippy was behind the desk ordering things on the computer. He wasn’t very friendly – not like Bridget but his shop was pretty cool. I didn’t buy anything from him however:
It reminded me of an old Harley Hippy place. Lots of motorcycle gear and junk.
This picture shows how the town is built into the mountain:
So another thing I’ve been thinking about is Prescott, AZ. When I was married, we had some friends, Ted & Cynthia Schleicher who lived in Prescott. Ted came to Naples from Arizona to work at The Chef’s Garden as a manager. I don’t remember how that happened, but I know that Ted lived with us for a while until he could find a place and also so that Cynthia could move to Naples too. They were the first of my friends I knew who were married – Beirne and I weren’t married yet. Anyway, that means they are zeroing in on 50 years together! So I had been wondering if they were still in Prescott. So yesterday in Jerome I googled him and they are still in Prescott. So today, my adventure is to travel to Prescott – about an hour from where I am now – to visit with them! Life is interesting! I’ll blog about that tomorrow!
I told you I would take a picture of the entrance to Thousand Trails, so here it is:
So that is it for today. Need to get started with a shower – first one in Daisy for 4 months! So wish me luck – we’ll see if I remember how to do that! Take care and come back for more excellent adventures with Metaxa, Otis2 & Daisy!
