Ms. Days Ease RV Life #157 6/18/20

Good Afternoon COVID-19 Warriors. I’m back at Daisy after running around doing errands for Mariah. We picked her up after her brake job. Now it seems that she may need back breaks too. She was REALLY RUSTY on her bottom. I guess that is what happens when you purchase an RV in Minnesota. (Note to self – don’t buy a vehicle in a state with lots of snow). I am grateful that Daisy was bought in Arizona – no rust there. Susan has had to put 6 new tires on her and she got new brakes on the front of her, and the guy said that when she gets aligned to have them check out the back brakes for rust also. In Colorado, you have to get a vehicle inspected so we did that today. She passed so now Susan can get Colorado plates for her. That made her happy! So here she is meeting Daisy for the first time:

Mariah meets Daisy

This was when we picked up Mariah and needed to bring OTIS2 home. After dropping off OTIS, we were together in Mariah. It looks like they are the same size from the front. My “Born Free” logo is bigger than hers. Mariah is 1 year older but has less mileage by about 10K miles. Hers is 2 feet longer so there is more storage in her. It seems that the bathroom is pretty similar. The kitchen seems the same too. She does have vinyl tile on the floor which is very nice as well as a matching tile back splash. That makes her seem more “up to date”. The dogs are going to slide on those floors so she will probably need throw rugs over it.

Yesterday we took a ride around the area in Susan’s Jeep. We went to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Made me think of San Francisco, but the name is for “Golden” Colorado. We checked it out for camping and found that Loops B & E were pull-throughs – perfect for Mariah and Daisy. Here is a picture layout of the park:

Here is a picture of the Visitor’s Center. I got a patch there:

There were many RV’s and campers in the campgrounds, but not too many people at the visitor’s center. There was just one line up to the desk at the visitor’s center and you could not look around at the displays. Everyone had masks on. I’m glad I could reach a patch to buy and it looks really cool on the refrigerator.

Here is a video I took of the wind blowing through the Aspens:

After riding around we saw some beautiful mountain views all the way to Denver – although it is pretty smoggy out here. Susan has lived in many places out here – what a story she has. Anyway, here is one of her first houses:

House #1

This house was WAY up in the mountains and had a beautiful view – although the trees had really grown up.  She said when she lived there, they were one of the only houses up there.  Now there are many more – but they are not on top of one another like they are in Florida.  There is still a lot of land around them.  This is a picture of her very first house – she was in her early 20’s.

It was a tiny brick house that needed to shovel the snow off of the roof in winter!  It was a beautiful ride through the mountains – such wonderful country!

So today, I got both of my windshields fixed by SafeLite.  It was a very impressive process.  I had chips in both Daisy and OTIS2.  Here is OTIS being worked on:

Here is Daisy being worked on:

You can still see where the chip was, but it is really less noticeable.  Now I won’t need to worry that the windshield will shatter on my way back to Benson.  Not that I really worried about that in the first place, but you never know.  I now have new windshield wipers on both OTIS2 and Daisy – I need to add that to the maintenance list I am keeping for them.

So I guess that is about all for today.  Thanks for visiting.  Remember:  Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet.  See you again soon!

The Aspen trees are amazing in the fall. They put on a show with the beautiful colors and paint the mountainsides! Glad the windshields got fixed. That’s great you didn’t have to replace them. Numbers are rising with the virus in FL but little DeSantis follows daddy. So who knows what will happen. I know my mask is on!!! Keep on keepin on Mary. Love you😚🙏❤
