Ms. Days Ease RV Life #171 8/10/20

Good Morning COVID-19 Warriors.  It’s now day #131.  All I can say is that I’m very glad that Colorado is open because here I am in Alamosa, CO at the KOA with my friend Susan.  Her rig is right next to mine and it’s going to be a BLAST.  She wants to drive Daisy while Otis is still attached, so we’ll probably go to ACE or Walmart to look for a lock for our power surge protectors.  That will give her a bit of practice because she wants to see if she wants to pay the money for the tow package – it’s steep – $3K!

Site 20 & 21 – side by side!  Picnic table in between.  We actually sat out at the picnic table last night and ate dinner.  She used her microwave for the first time!  She also made a Key Lime Pie so we have that to share this week.  It was delicious!!!!

Here are a couple of other pictures from Alamosa:

The picnic table between Daisy and Mariah looking at Mariah.  It’s so much fun having the same rig – hers is just 2 feet longer than mine and the longer side wall is where her closets are in her rig.  Her storage configuration is different also.  The extra length in Mariah makes her feel bigger than Daisy, but we think the width and height is the same.  We’re calling it 8 1/2 by 11 so we don’t have to think dimensions in a pinch!

Awning out and rug down – now we’re camping!  Look at that great fire ring.  I think we’ll need to buy some firewood and have a fire.  It gets cool enough for one.  Right now it’s 59 in Daisy and 45 outside!  GLORIOUS.

Another picture at the KOA:

Susan encouraged me to use their water.  So I’m trying it this time.  I suppose once this happens, there is no going back!  It is nice not to hear the water pump.  I’ll have to see how it is in the shower next time I take one.  They have showers here, but want to reserve them for the tent campers during the pandemic so I took a shower in Daisy yesterday.  It felt great!

Here I am showing the camp set up a little better and me with my bandana mask on!  Love those masks – covers up a multitude of sins!

Here is Susan at our picnic dinner last night – mugging for the camera!

I think I’ll get dressed now and go out and sit and have coffee outside with the door open with the screen door closed for the “porch” for Metaxa.  Life is good!  I’ll be back after our adventures today!

So we made it to:  We asked a “Guy” to take this picture and you can see he didn’t make it all that great – but the sign looks nice and those tiny people are Susan and me!!!!!!

We got there around 11 AM and it was really hot!  Susan was in flip flops so we couldn’t hike to them and it was way too hot and sunny for me anyway – no big deal.  I did take some good pictures (I think) of it and I got a coin and a patch for my collection.  I didn’t get the passport stamped so we have to go back again this week.  Anyway, here is the patch on the fridge:

Here are a few more pictures:

I can’t believe how “fake” they seem.  It is really an interesting phenomenon.

We got to the place where people were walking in the sand (at the hottest time of the day) where I read the temperature can get up to 150 degrees.  Susan was in flip flops so she wasn’t going in the sand and either was I.  People were cooling off their feet when they got back and some of them probably burned their feet because they were in open toed shoes.  I guess they thought it was like a “day at the beach”:

We even stopped by a “Point of Interest”:

So now, I’m going to take a nap after this great adventure.  Such a life!  Come back again.  Thanks for visiting!
