Good Morning all of you COVID-19 Warriors! It is now day #151 for me. Day 12 of my 50in50in50. I made it to Hawaii and Alaska in the last few days. I was concerned about getting to those states! So I wonder what today will bring!
The other day, this happened:
I was sitting in Daisy the other day and I felt a strange sensation, like someone walking on the roof. The guy Timothy, from Lightening Fast RV Service had climbed up on Daisy to replace the cover. He said he knocked on my door (of the house) but I didn’t answer. So I got out of Daisy to investigate and there he was up on the roof! I scared him by coming out of Daisy and he scared me by climbing up on the roof. Anyway, it was funny! So I paid $215 to get this done. The unit itself was $139 and then some shipping and a $47 fee for travel time (1/2 the going rate). So I think having them do it was worth it. Now the AC will be protected! Anyway, thank you CT-RV for suggesting I call them. They were great!
I’m going to go get my coffee and log into my meeting. I’ll be back!
So Jennifer Kenyon Bates retired last Friday! SO PROUD of her! I hope this makes her happier – I know it has made me happier. The stress of working was taking a toll on me and now I have the freedom to do anything I want, anytime I want and as soon as COVID is done – life will be great again. Although I must say, it hasn’t really changed my life much. I wouldn’t be going out much anyway. But I must confess, I do feel a little “unproductive” these days! I just don’t want to get tied down to anything specifically. I’m still searching for “that perfect” at home job. Anyway, Beaches sent her this:
I think they are beautiful! Great job Janet!!! I always remember Jenn’s garden in Wellesley at her house. It was really beautiful. I never got into gardening and don’t think I ever will, but I do appreciate “green thumb” people like Bill Strenkert! I think the first people I ever knew that had a garden were Sam and Julie Hazard in Naples – the first Headmaster of Community School. My African Violets are finally “giving up the ghost”. I think I remember my mom taking a leaf from the plant and sticking it in water to root it and then she would replant them. I’m not sure that will work for me. I think I’ll just go buy a couple of more plants next time I’m at Walmart – if they have them.
So as you know, I love to color. It is something that “soothes” me and calms me. I like Mandalas. I had a big coloring book in Florida that I had almost completely finished and I can’t find it with this move, so I went on Amazon and bought another one. I also had a smaller one that I had almost finished and I was trying to figure out what to do with them book when I finished it. The paper is a good, strong card stock so it takes a lot of abuse. But I came up with a plan after talking to my girlfriends and this is what I came up with:
I had this empty wall in my den, so I taped them up on the wall. This is how it ended up:
Now I will add the final pages of the book to this wall. Once that is done, I’ll work on where to hang the larger pictures. I really like the way this is looking. I put tape in the upper 2 corners of the page so some of them fell off the wall this morning. But I may put them up more permanently later on, but right now the tape is working. It’s fun to look at all of the colors and patterns. I sit at my diningroom table and color and listen to MSNBC on Alexa – that is how I get my “news”.
SO this morning I meditated on the porch with Metaxa in my lap. The temperature was 70 degrees! LOVELY!
I could be wrong, but I think she likes the meditation too. She usually sits in my lap when I’m listening to 10% Happier App.
Yesterday, I got a lead on a job to test apps. It said that I needed to pay $27 to take the training. I saved the email and I’m thinking about doing it. I’ve been told that I shouldn’t pay for anything when it comes to getting a job, but this might be worth the risk if it pays to test apps and of course, you know how much I love APPS! I could do it on the iPad – there is lots of space on that. Anyway, I’ll let you know if I “take the bait”.
Just heard from Jackie. She and Laura are buying a house in Riviera. So excited for them. Here is a picture of it:
Guess they’ll be working a number of more years to handle that! I know Jackie’s house was paid off but I bet this one needs a mortgage – or not – don’t know for sure. I’m excited for them!
So next weekend there is a conference that I’m planning to attend:
I think it is probably “FREE”, but I registered and paid to support them and also to get that cool STAR – The Secret Is Service. Looking to put it on my den window!
I guess that’s about it for today. Thanks for visiting! Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet!
