Good Morning Wednesday, December 31, 2014

Hello World,

Well, I have to admit that I’m excited about it being New Year’s Eve.  I think that it’s wonderful that I have another “last” day of the week and a long weekend.  I had been thinking that I would work on Friday, but then again, I think not!  I could though because my car will be in the shop all day.  They said they would give me a “loaner” so I think I’ll go with that and take the day off.  So this is what we’re talking about:

The Dreaded Light

Look, you can see my phone in the picture - so funny!

Yesterday I was driving home from work and the “dreaded light” came on.  The car didn’t “jump” like it had before, but still the light bugs the heck out of me.  So I had arranged earlier in the day to get the car fixed on Friday.  That works out well because I have the day off.  Still I think the most ironic thing about this mechanical headache is that the light looks like the AA Logo – the Circle and the Triangle as seen here:

Do you think this is a “God” thing?  It did cause me some consternation and I pushed back for a while being assured that it didn’t need to be fixed and I wasn’t going to fix it and yada, yada, yada!  Still now I’m thinking, the light isn’t on all the time, the little “jumps” don’t come that often etc., but at the end of the day, I want to feel safe driving around in my sweet little Rose.  Plus I’m driving to Sarasota in a week or so and I want her to be fixed up, so there you have it.  The deal is done, the funds transferred from savings and she’ll be all fixed up on Friday!  But I will consider a new car when my extended warranty runs out in 2016 – not that it has done me so well with this issue in not covering it! Enough about that!

Last night I had my spaghetti squash, burger and tomato sauce for dinner.  I had frozen the portion of squash so I was interested in how it would taste.  It was just as good as before.  It’s a perfect dish for me – all mixed up in the bowl.  Not sure what I’ll do for dinner tonight.  It is NYE after all so I should celebrate.  Received a text from Bill S. about going to the 24 Hour Club tonight for the Young People’s Event “A Black Tie Affair”.  I’m planning to go to Common Solutions Woman’s meeting today at 5:30.  Then I was thinking I’d go over to Suzee’s house to watch the fireworks from the end of her street.  That is still in the back of my mind.  But they’ll be over by 10PM and then I’ll be ready for bed.  I still like watching PBS on New Year’s Eve.  Although I’m not watching as much TV now – trying to stay positive and not watch the news – although I watched a little of it last night.  I’m not sure how long that is going to last.  Old habits die hard!

It’s funny how this blog has changed the way I do things now.  As the day goes on, I take pictures of things that I wouldn’t ordinarily do – like the “dreaded light” above.  I was looking at the site that Cathy mentioned to me about recipes for grain free eating: http://www.gourmetgirlcooks.com/.  I noticed that she has ads next to her site that are a way to make a little money.  That was one thing I learned in that silly class I took on Word Press.  Each time someone clicks on her ads, she gets some money.  Also, on the other site, http://againstallgrain.com/ if you look at her recipes, she has ingredients linked right to Amazon.  Now that is BRILLIANT!  She must get something for that.  And also it’s very convenient for us.  I almost ordered “Chia Seeds” the other day when they came up in a recipe I liked and now I see a little ad popping up on FB with that same thing.  I love this blogging thing – and to think it all started with the movie (at least for me) “Julie and Julia” about a girl blogging about Julia Childs starring Meryl Streep.  (I forgot the name of the movie and went to “GOOGLE”)!  AMAZING world we live in now!  Wow was looking at the movies that Meryl Streep has been in – there are 51 of them!  Now talk about Amazing – that is one talented woman.  I think the first movie I saw her in was “Kramer vs Kramer” with Dustin Hoffman.

Well it’s time to move on for the day.  Just thought I’d leave you with this to ponder today:

Now this is a blast from the past!

Found this on Bev’s FB page – a picture of Jon and Bev “way back when” – my how things change in our world!

Have a great day today.  Happy New Year’s Eve – don’t drink – go to a meeting!  Thanks for visiting!

    Q. “Don’t you think this is a “God” thing?”
    A. YESSS! But Mary, I think everything is a God thing–if we stay out of the way. But I usually don’t. (Stay out of the way!)
Being “in the way”–wanting something another has, with which they’re not willing to part–causes wars (EVERY WAR? Hmmm. Maybe so.)

By the time you get a new car–you will be salivating for the “new” smell, that ease of handling, that power when ya need it, and that TV screen which shows a picture as you backing up…you could see a child darting out behind you–and stop in time. OR you might see a biker trying to beat you the parking spot–and you’ll LET him. RIGHT? (Another Hmmm?) I like to ride with Don S b/c his vehicle has that app…and I marvel at that.

NOTE: ALL my accidents occurred as I was backing, or as I was moving forward–another “Hmmm?”

If I’m not careful, and keep on reading here, it’s possible I could become interested in a new way to eat, like meatless Lasagna. Or “spaghetti squash”…cannot image eating squash. Does it squoosh? More shall CERTAINLY be revealed–hopefully!

I haven’t talked with anyone who places those ads on their blog or page. I DO know I don’t like to see them everywhere. Do NOT know how good are the rewards. If it’s 20-30 bucks a month, phoooey–if HUNDREDS, well I might take a L O O K !!! LOL!

I’m at Decision Time on either a Samsung–or Asus. Must ask you sometime, if you are still happy with your little machine, etc.
REALLY liking the Asus. Had my credit card out at Best Buy–and they came after 20-minute wait to let me know they were OUT of them. Glad that happened in 2014. “What HAPPENS in 2014, STAYS in 2014, HO HO HO…

    Oh Mary…WWW it IS!

I love my little ASUS, but must admit I don’t use it much. But it’s there IF I need it. I just saw a recipe for zucchini spaghetti. I have to buy a vegetable cutter for $30 to do it. It cuts in a rotary direction and you can do all kinds of fruits and veggies. I’ll see about getting that and let you know.
