Hello World,
Happy January 2nd! We’re into the New Year! On my second “day off” of my 4 day weekend. Yesterday I had planned to take my Christmas lights down, but instead I went for a visit with Dick and Doug. Their place is spectacular. What a show place. So beautiful! Every detail is phenomenal. The floor is some kind of amazing tile and their kitchen counters are some sort of “glasslike” stone with a rough gray back splash. All from Home Depot. I love the colors they painted their walls – a turquoise that brings you up the stairwell and then other colors throughout. I love it all. Dick put a bureau in his closet since his room was the smaller one and it worked really well. They bought a bunch of their furniture from “Thrift” shops and it all looks amazing! Dick shared that he loved to paint – walls that is. Hummm! May need to get him to paint my place. He said he would be willing to do that and I’d love that because I know he would do a great job and I could trust him to “come and go” at will. Maybe I’ll have him paint the wall facing my kitchen and see how that goes. then he could do the den, and my bedroom. The kitchen and livingroom would be difficult with the vaulted ceilings and the “connections” between the two areas. Then there is the plant shelf that runs the length of the house……
If that area was painted, it would be really cool. I think I’d like to have them pick out the colors and “surprise” me. I think that could be a project we could work on together. It would keep him happy during his “retirement” and it would certainly keep me happy!
So on another note: Jon and Ale went to the Ritz in Fort Lauderdale for New Years! He invited me – I think I said that, but I decided I didn’t want to go over there even though he said he’d pay for a room. I’m glad I didn’t now as I’ve seen the pictures and there were enough family members to “keep him company!”
Plus I don’t have the fancy duds like they do. Anyway, I hope they had a great time. They are still struggling with their kitchen make over, but it looks like things are finishing up. I think Jon told me that Ale was going back to India in a while – she loves it there and that is where she gets those beautiful gowns.
Yesterday at Dick and Doug’s, they gave me a little gift – a food processor that they don’t use:
Come to find out that it is the same one that Cathy and Bill have. I’m really excited about it. Haven’t used it yet, but I have a feeling the old “blender” is going to be retired. I have it out on my counter right now. Not sure it will stay there, but it sure is pretty! I’m going to go on line to try to get the manual for it. Doug thinks he may have it somewhere. Just another reason to call and go by there to see them again.
Well, time to get rolling now. I don’t want to be late with my car today. Looking forward to completing this task. Will report my progress tomorrow. Have a great day today and thanks for visiting!

WOW! 1:30 AM…thought sure I had commented earlier, but, well…
Now I’ll have to read your blog post again–grin!
Dick and Doug have a marvelous place, it seems, and I’ll “make book” on your ability to keep those guys busy. They will go back north to recuperate from vacation! HA!
And yep, the Ritz is for the Ritzy. Me? Even a room at La Quinta is too expensive to justify my going to Area Assembly. Of course this IS their “season”. I was counting on several meetings: Concepts, Grapevine, Inter-Group, Traditions, Website and Hmmm, oh yes– banquet! Maybe get a GSR job sometime this year…more will be revealed LOL!
Isn’t it those “little things” which can make us SO happy? A used blender! (But it looks like right-out-of-the-box NEW!) Well, they love you, girl…such GOOD friend and family you have, but so THEY have also–in YOU!.
Will “Rose” be coming home Saturday? Although you have a “loaner”…it is still more comfortable to drive your own. At least that’s how I usually feel with violin. HATE to use a loaner. So Good luck with Rose!
I’ve been rambling, that’s what happens after 1 AM–I should NEVER write even a comment this late…b/c all ya can make from mush is MUSH. So remember www it is!

Thanks for always responding Steve, even if you think you ramble. I always enjoy those “ramblings”. “Ramblin Rose” – isn’t that a country song? Anyway, I’m starting my blog for today since I “took a day off” yesterday! Yes it is a www.
