Ms. Days Ease RV Life #195 Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020

Good Morning COVID-19 Warriors!  Day # 246 for me today.  I went to the doctors’ this morning and had a follow-up to my blood work.  All is well.  I also got a Flu shot.  I love my little town.  The medical facility is just 10 minutes from my driveway and other testing that needs to be done – a COVID test before my cataract surgery next week – is right across the street from there at the Benson Hospital.  So convenient!

That is SO TRUE!  Cats are GREAT!

I’m sitting and waiting for my phone interview call from Nina Collard from Yellowstone to see if they are willing to give me a job and a site for Daisy next summer.  I’m excited – should be in about 10 minutes.  I’ll come back and report how it went.

The guys are here this morning working on my concrete slab for Daisy beside my carport.  That is also exciting!  I’m going to go out to take a picture.  Be right back!

This is Alex – the boss!  He speaks English very well – his partner not so much!  He told me that I could have been poured this morning but something froze so it will need to wait until tomorrow.  It’s really cold here – still 43 degrees – was 32 when I woke up!  Here is how they are framing the drive.

It’s going to be great – I hope – at least I think I’ll be able to back Daisy in easier.  Time will tell!

Trying a new Bubly:

Last time I went to the store there was NO ORANGE BUBLY!  So if I’m going to live without Orange Bubly – I need to try others.  Cranberry is good and so is lemon, but still not as good as Orange.  But I’ll get some alternatives to feed my habit.  I need to drink more just plain water also, so I’m going to try that each day too.

Bringing in dirt for the driveway!

So the interview happened.  It went well I believe.  She was pretty negative about having a “site” for me and Daisy, but I remember that feeling last year and they got a space for me so we’ll see.  I would start in May (12) and end in October (11) so it would be a full 5 months.  Leaving 7 months in AZ.  There would probably be snow on the ground when I get there,  That will be interesting – driving Daisy in the snow.  I suppose her weight would make it through the snow ok along with towing OTIS2.  They are starting to use OPERA for their reservation system now.  Previously, they used a DOS based system, so at least I’ll be starting with the newest software which will be an advantage for me over a GSA (Guest Services Agent) who has worked before at the Front Desk.  I’ve already checked YouTube for training videos and there are plenty of them so I doubt I’ll have any trouble.  More will be revealed.

So today is FRIDAY, December 4th and I’m adding to this post.  First of all my driveway is being poured right now:

It’s 17 minutes long and it is done!  Amazing cement truck driver and these two – Alex and his helper are amazing!  He’s been doing concrete for 50 years – started in 1969.  He’s 67 – we compared ages!

Waiting until they leave and I’ll put my initials in it with today’s date.  Let me go get a picture of my initials:  Or I might put 12/7/20 instead since it’s close enough and my 70th Birthday!  And as I age – it will remind me of when my birthday is!!!!

Next new excitement!

Meet Roxie – Dick and Doug got an 11 week old puppy.  So pretty!

I can’t tell if she has a tail – looks like a nub, but I’m trying to find out.  She has a tail according to Dick – you can see a little of it in the other picture.

And one more:

We decorated the Christmas Tree at B & C’s tonight.  Here is the first picture:

More tomorrow.  Thanks for visiting!  Come back here because those pictures will be put in tomorrow.  Good night for now!

Continuing on Saturday, December 5th.  So here is a picture of the finished product:

It looks like the one from last year – here is the picture of it from last year:

So funny!  Anyway, we got a video of the “crackling” fire on the TV.

Bill put up their tree outside too.  Now the neighbors won’t think we’re heathens!  A lot of the neighbors go ALL OUT with their decorations because there is a “contest” for the best display.  You can start voting on your neighborhoods on December 11th.  We’ll need to drive around at night one night and decide which one is the best.  Here is a picture of Bill putting up the outside tree:

It’s cold in Benson but see how blue the sky is?  Love it out here.  Bill suggested that I spend a few days in Daisy during this cold weather once I can bring her back up here from his yard.  That will be next Saturday.  Then I can see if living in Daisy is something I want to do next summer since everyday it’s cold in the mornings at 8,000 feet.  I may start looking at “Cool Works” for something in the area but at a lower elevation so it doesn’t get SO COLD and then I can drive the Jeep up to visit with them instead.

I got my Christmas Tree in the mail yesterday.  Here it is on the table:

Here is another view of it showing the entire height – 2 feet tall:

I’ve been getting texts from Beaches – started with this picture this morning:

Jennifer’s daughters Maggie and MacKenzie.  SO BEAUTIFUL!  I know they make her heart sing!  They were making Christmas Cookies together!  So Sweet!

More will be revealed.  Thanks for visiting!  Remember:  Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet!
