Good Morning COVID-19 Warriors! Today is day #259 for me. I’m still amazed that we are in the thick of things, and Arizona is worse now than it had been, so I guess we still need to be alert. I get to go for my follow-up on my eye surgery this morning. I hope I get a full release so I don’t have any restrictions. I’m also going to the HOA Annual meeting today. We’ll see how that goes!
So yesterday, I went to the Desert Museum. I had gone in July but it was just too hot to enjoy it. Yesterday was perfect! I also checked out a campground nearby so I might go there in Daisy one of these days. It’s only an hour away. It’s really a cool place.
I think I saw a YouTube video on this campground, so it was good to see it in person. I picked a couple of sites that I liked and will try to get a reservation there at some point. This is the campground layout.
The road is a little “dippy” as you drive on it and I think I’d like to tow OTIS2 because I would want to drive to the Museum and also the other part of Saguaro National Park which is just “up the street” from the museum, but farther than I’m willing to walk.
I took a lot of pictures – it was a beautiful day. I also did a couple of videos:
There was also a Coyote and a Gray Wolf! The wolf looked lonely and depressed:
Here is the Coyote – I was wondering if it was “stuffed”:
But it moved:
Here is a better picture of the Javalina – weird looking little pig like things:
Here are a few more pictures from my adventure to the Desert Museum:
I’m having trouble downloading the pictures right now. I’ll try later:
I took the above picture from one of the cut outs where you can access trails and just view a beautiful scene.
There were some great rock formations! The lean-too was made out of Saguaro cactus spines. It was so cool!
Here is a favorite:
You can tell it was a perfect day to be walking in the desert. Love that bright, blue sky – no clouds anywhere!
I just got back from the HOA meeting in The Barn. It was interesting. I learned that there are only 5 more lots to sell in the HOA. There will be a house brought in to 109 which is 2 doors down from Bill and Cathy. That will be fun to watch the progress on that. I’m not sure if Lot #114 is sold yet – it’s being used to store rocks on it right now, so what I thought was being prepped to put the rocks down on the lot, I guess is just being used to store the piles for now.
I learned that the only thing that is supposed to be “under the carport” is to be cars, golf carts or sheds. So I think I’ll order another storage unit like the one I have to store the other “stuff” I have out there. I still don’t think I have enough “stuff” to warrant building a shed.
Big snow storm in the North East! Pictures from Dick!
Glad I don’t have to shovel it!
I now have a weather station in Daisy. It is run by batteries, but can be plugged in also. I discovered in on RVLifestyle Blog – I like it because it goes black when not in use. That way it won’t be too bright when I am trying to sleep in Daisy:
Bill hung it up for me. I’m sure I would have made it crooked!
Tried a new skill:
Cooking bacon outside under the carport on my camping table that rolls up and fits in a bag. I’m using it at the front door so packages and groceries can sit on it while I get into the house. Bill put eye screws into the hard wall to secure it with straps to keep it from blowing away. It’s GREAT!
I guess that is about it for today. I’ll add to this if something exciting happens or else I’ll be back in a few days! Thanks for visiting! I have a lot more pictures from the Desert Museum that I’ll add tomorrow.
