Ms. Days Ease RV Life #200 Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020

Hello COVID-19 Warriors.  Day #269 for me today.  Christmas is OVER.  I’m still going to keep my little tree up for a few more days.  I’ll take it down and put all of my Christmas stuff away in a box I’ve saved from Tovala.  I think it will fit in there.  I hope so, because I can keep it on the top shelf in my walk-in closet.    I can also put in in the guestroom closet if necessary.  But I’ll figure that out soon.  I just want to be sure the Christmas Tree folds up small enough to fit in the box.

So yesterday we had dinner at Bill and Cathy’s.  It was delicious!

It was a honey baked ham, scallop potatoes and a green bean casserole with water chestnuts.  It was wonderful!  Cathy is to be commended for her wonderful cooking.  The table was beautiful also:

Such a nice meal and afternoon.  This was our second Christmas together.  Starting traditions!!!!

So I gave them a piece of furniture for their house that I did not need – it was crammed in by the table.

It was the sideboard that was mom’s.  It looks great in their house now and so now they can say they have an antique piece of mahogany furniture in their home.  It is really perfect for them and was more than I needed.

SO the other day my friend John Butler celebrated his birthday and I saw it on FB.  I asked the question as to whether he still had my motorcycle that he bought from me after the “accident”……….remember this?

I found it in Google Pictures on line and noticed that it happened in August 2016.  Anyway, John bought my wrecked motorcycle (the Harley Sportster) for $1000.  He didn’t even have his license yet!  Anyway, we became friends in the program and he got the bike.  So he posted this picture on FB:

That is my bike in the background.  Sweet!  Anyway, John did some handiman work around my place in Naples.  He is such a great guy and he has the sweetest little Yorkie named Brutus!

So I’ve come up with a new idea!  I’m thinking about buying a Casita TT.  It is one that has a bathroom and can be towed by my Jeep.  I’ve been looking at old pictures of OLIVI@ and Otis:

Practicing at FSW State

They keep popping up on my picture frame in the kitchen and I realize I sort of miss Olivi@ – but not the fact there was no bathroom.  So I’ve found another camper that I believe I could tow with OTIS2.  Google says he can tow 2000 to 3500 pounds.  Here is what I’m looking at:

I love the fact that it is all fiberglass like Daisy:

Also it matches the look of Daisy.  It can be towed by my Jeep – I believe – still researching that.  I believe it can fit under the car port – still researching that also.  Deal breaker if not.   A cost of a new one is about $25K.  I’m looking for an older model which would be much less expensive but would have the same specs – only a bit older.  I got the idea from a YouTube couple who recently bought a sticks & bricks and sold their Class A and only have the Casita now.  Let me see if I can find their video:

I’m a little concerned that it may be too much for OTIS2 to tow.  So I might look at a couple of other types, like an RPod, or TAB or Vintage trailers.  I’ll just keep scrolling on RV Trader to see what comes up.  The important thing is that it fit under the car port.  So new adventures await.

SO now I’ve determined that I need to look at lighter and smaller.  My Wrangler isn’t really strong enough to tow the Casita – dang it!  Loved the thought of that.  So now, I’ll look at something else.  To be continued!

Now I’m thinking about a TAB – like Suzan and Bette’s.  Since I really liked my TAG, I’m sure I will like a TAB.  The only issue is that it is just about the same height as my carport.  I think it will fit under there, but it will be close.  A neighbor up the way has a “Bushwacker” which is a teardrop too and they have it under their carport.  I’m going to go check that out now.  This is going to be fun!  More will be revealed!  I found 2 TAB’s on RV Trader – one a 2015 and another a 2018.  One in Colorado and one in Yuma.  I have a feeling I’ll be going to Yuma to check them out.  It would be a lot easier.  The one in Colorado is cheaper.  But I’m not in any rush because of my eye.  It gets done on the 5th of January and I’m out of commission for about 3 weeks.  It’s fun to think about.  Plus I already planned a trip to Big Bend National Park.  One stop Las Cruces, the next stop Texas!  Bette and Suzan are thinking about meeting me there.  That would be fun.  But I’d probably take Daisy & Otis so I could drive around.  But if I had Olivi@2, that would be fun too.  It’s a dream world!

I picked up my mail this morning and this was in it:

It is a backpack for the tree from Heidi!  So Christmas has stretched to 3 days for me.  She said she is moving to Massachusetts to be near her daughter Meghan!  Now that’s a shock!  Boy, she has a LOT to clean out – she’s been in that house for a century!  She did say she was “retiring” in early 2021 so that is great.  New adventures for her!  Very exciting!  We’ll have a ZOOM call tomorrow night.  Can’t wait!

So sunsets in Arizona can be as beautiful as those in Florida.  Here is one from last night:

That is taken from under my carport.  My neighbor just got his awning installed and now his car is safely out of the sun all day!  I love seeing the progression of building around here.  It’s fun to watch!

So I’m adding this picture to my archives so I can throw them away.  Friends have remembered me on my birthday and Christmas – the first card I go was from Suzanne for Thanksgiving!  I love my friends:

So this morning the sunrise looked like this:

It only lasted for about 5 minutes!  Love being out here in the Wild, Wild, West!  Thanks for visiting.  I’ll be back soon!
