Good Morning World!

So I skipped a couple of days posting and I’ve decided that it’s okay and I’ll post periodically now.  It seems I get up and there are so many things to do with the committee work I’m on, that sometimes I get caught up in all of that and run out of time before having to get ready to go to work.  So that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

So since Wednesday, let’s see what’s been going on.  Thursday after work I went to the Annual Dinner at the 24 Hour Club.  Bill S invited me to go with him so I met him there.  The dinner was really good.  Russell did a wonderful job although setting up the buffet in the front of the building, made for an interesting flow of people and plates.  I ate the salad, veggies and shrimp – all good items for my diet.  We sat with Judy and Bill and Mike (?) – nice folks!  I felt a little guilty not making it to the “Cookie Meeting”, but I thought it would be interesting to see what goes on at their meeting.  Officers of the club were elected and reports were made.  It seems that they have a fund for “replacement” costs which is sizable, but not big enough to replace the building.  Also seems that the “passing of the basket” doesn’t cover costs.  Membership is around 280 which again surprises me – I’d think it was a lot more – but I guess not – they seemed to be thrilled with that number.  So 280 times $150 is: $42,000 so that is pretty good I guess.  I’m beginning to “warm up” to the 24 Hour Club.  I’ve often said it should be a “no brainer” for me to get there after work since I’m just around the corner at Moorings Park.  Now that the IG Office is there, I’d have a place to “hang out” before the 5:30 meeting which is the Easy Does It Group.  On Thursdays – there is a “GV” meeting.  I should try to get to that one day.  I could do that and still make it to the Naples Group if I drive right there after that meeting.  Maybe I’ll try that next Thursday.

So yesterday, I worked at the IG Office after work.  Not a lot of action but I put labels on the schedules, sold a “Living Sober” to Kelly who came in and discussed his problems staying sober and I told him that the book he was buying is great, practical advice.  He seemed pretty nice and I hope he “makes it”.  I also got a call from a woman that wanted to get a number for a “sober” (upscale) house.  I gave her a number from the book at the desk and wished her well.  God Bless!

I don’t like the picture I have of the Intergroup Office on the website so I took a couple of other ones yesterday.  Here they are:

Bill said he was getting a price on an Awning.  It gets complicated and expensive since it has to have concrete footers and be Hurricane worthy.  So he didn’t want another picture yet until the awning is put up.  I still would like to see that front door replaced with a “glass door” like they had downtown.  It would be much more “Welcoming”.  But like everything in AA – it’s a work in progress – progress not perfection!

Today is RAINING!  It’s kind of nice to wake up to that.  I opened my front door for the kitties this morning and the sound of the rain was pretty refreshing.  The cold front is supposed to bring cooler temperatures so it is supposed to be only in the 60’s tomorrow.  Guess I’ll be driving Rose to Church tomorrow, plus I have to do Communion and bring the cookies for fellowship time – no one signed up for this week and I can’t carry cookies etc on RED.  Just in case you forget what RED looks like:

Red

Red has just over 8000 miles on her.  She has a LOT of life left in her.  I filled her tires last week so things are great with her.  Luis says she needs a new front tire.  I’ll get that one of these days.

So now I’m going to get rolling to do the Saturday chores.  Laundry, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms etc.  Dick is going to paint my wall yellow today after 1PM.  I’m getting my hair done at 11 and then we’ll meet up to go to ACE to get the paint and equipment he needs.  I’m cleaning off the furniture and taking things off the wall.  I talked to Roy about doing the other part of the house.  It will need to be done, but I’m not sure when I’ll have it done.  I’ll live with the yellow wall for a while and then go on to that part of the project.  Cash flow has a way of “slowing” things down a little.  Anyway, all is well and life is good.  Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day today!

Oh yeah, one more picture to leave you with:

Plumb tuckered out!

Which reminds me – Wylie didn’t get me up at 3 – not for the last 3 or 4 days.  I think her internal alarm clock is finally reset.  PRAISE THE LORD!

Like that office photo on the right…showing that beautiful sign, AA logos blowing in the wind, front door open, private sidewalk, and the fact that there IS parking–best picture until Bill allows you to take another.

ALWAYS love photos of bike (naturally!) and, well–
    “DOMINO DOMINATES”

My own days have become suddenly more busy, working with two people in Immokalee. The more I ride over there, the shorter the trip seems. Funny how that works. Only bad–is that in evening/night mosquitoes come out by the trillions, HUNGRY!!. We are lucky. Naples USED to be like that 50 years ago and before.

Yet I still think–and believe, www.
