Good Morning Friday, January 30, 2015

Hello World!

I haven’t posted in a couple of days because I’ve been busy in the mornings and today I have a day off (I hope – although the State is due any day to do a survey with us and if they come today, I’ll be called back to work).  That would be a shame though because, Dick is coming over and we’re going to start the “White” painting process.  I have to say, the YELLOW wall is done SO well.  I am marveling at the professional touch he has.  It’s amazing.  He didn’t drip anywhere!  I mean ANYWHERE!  Now my furniture is all back in order, but I still need to put the books and “stuff” aka “chacka” back in the book shelf and the lamps back on the TV stand, but mostly I’m ready to “tear the place apart” again.  It’s nice to have a place that is a reasonable size and not so overwhelming to paint – although I’m glad Dick is the one with the “love of painting”!

I love my new entrance!

The yellow is so pretty and the white doors look great and bright now.  So it’s on to other colors and to cover the rest of the rosy pink color that is throughout the rest of the house.  We’re going to try to tackle the valance over the sliding glass doors to the porch also.  That will be interesting!

I learned a sad thing the other night:

Gary Stein, a faithful member of the Sunlight of the Spirit Group, passed unexpectedly on January 13th while visiting in Connecticut. Gary was our Home group member for the past three years along with being a trusted servant of AA and our GSR.  Gary lived in Naples with his wife Linda and passed two days after the death of his mother in  Connecticut .  A memorial service was held along with his mother’s service in Connecticut  on January 14th.  A memorial service will be announced for Naples.

This is an email I received this morning from Don Meek – a friend in the program.  Ralph mentioned it at the District Meeting on Wednesday.  Gary was a great guy – one of the Good Ones!  He was the Grapevine Chair before me and his reports to Intergroup and District were so funny, that I wanted to join his committee just to be around such laughter.  After he gave up being the GV chair, I took it over.  He also worked with Bob and me for a little while on the Intergroup Website.  I remember him coming to my house a few times for our “Sunday marathon” meetings.  He was fun and interesting.  Always at the Area Quarterly meetings.  God Bless him and his family!

So today is the start of a 4 day weekend for me.  I’ve decided rather than taking every other Friday off, I’m going to take every other Monday off.  This way, I’ll be at work on Fridays until 4 and then can go right over to my volunteer job at the Intergroup Office on Fridays until 7.  That way I won’t need to drive there all the way from my house on a “day off”.  So my rotating Mondays begin this coming Monday!  This is “Superbowl” weekend so maybe I’ll watch a little of that on Sunday just to see some of the ads.  It’s amazing how hyped up people get for this game.  I don’t think it starts until 6PM or so and they are beginning “pregame” shows at NOON.  Too much!

Yesterday, Luann sent a wonderful picture of Aunt Pat and Riley with her “new memory foam” sneakers!  It is a whoot!

So I’m going to get going now.  It’s been fun posting today.  I’ve got to get ready for Dick to come and begin painting which means I need to remove these pictures:

Plus I need to begin my “Minutes” for District 20.  Still looking for a couple of reports.  One is from Gary!  I should have said something to him last night at the Cookie Meeting!  Oh well – that is what email is for!

Have a beautiful day and I’ll leave you with my new favorite picture of the kids:

I love it that they have their own little spots on the bed.  Makes for an interesting night’s sleep for me!  Thanks for visiting!

I’m glad that “Little Bit” worked for you today – or yesterday really. We’re painting more than we thought today. Only the BIG wall left to do with lots of furniture moving and other pre prep. I think we’ll take a break!
