Good Morning Everyone! I wanted to put this picture in the blog today because my picture was used as the header for the Winnebago HIKE – Love it! FB Group. Pretty impressive for her first outing! Anyway, they will be changing it for June, but it was the featured picture for the month of May 2021. Gotta love it!!!!
SO I’m obsessing about my departure on the 24th. The trip is a GO because Ginger crossed the rainbow bridge on Sunday. She’ll be with her companion Cookie and now Susan has no worries for this trip. I knew that God had a plan and that this was the way it was supposed to be. It is sad for her, but ultimately, it’s the best thing as we know. It’s always hard though. R.I.P. Ginger & Cookie!
I ordered the personal GPS for $500 and it should be here tomorrow. It will give me time to play with it before I go. Speaking of “playing” with new things. I got this yesterday:

This $250 “cooler” runs on electric and 12 Volt. I learned about it at Cheap RV Living and I thought it would be a good idea to have for the trip because my “freezer” in Mama holds 3 frozen meals – not enough for the trip. Now I need to see if it will fit in the front seat of Papa on the floor. So you can crank it down to “0” degrees and it becomes a freezer. This is what if holds:

I’m going to buy a few packs of shredded Cheddar Cheese! Can never have enough cheese! I just messaged Suanne Carlson to find out where she got the bag to insulate this fridge in. I’ve looked on Amazon, but couldn’t find it. I’ll try it from the computer. I only looked on my phone. I can’t find the cover for it. Not really sure why I want it, but it might be good to have if I’m in the heat and the truck gets heated up. CTRV contacted me and said the cover was out of stock so I just need to keep looking for it on Amazon. I tested this freezer by plugging in the little Jackery battery charger. It worked for 4 hours – long enough for a car ride. I then brought in my big ole 4Patriots generator (battery bank) and it charged it for 9 hours and probably would charge it longer if necessary so I’ll be fine when we “boondock” on our trip. I put it on the front seat of Papa Bear and I think it will ride there just fine. I have room to put the 4Patriots generator on the floor of Papa and I can plug it in to it if necessary. I’m going to test it with the 12 Volt charger I have in Papa Bear and then go for a ride and see how that works. It’s interesting that there doesn’t seem to be any moisture coming from it. But Bill explained that it wouldn’t need to be level because that is only for refrigerators that run on propane like in an RV. It’s amazing the knowledge he has! I’m so blessed to have him for my brother – what a walking problem solver!
I’m going to test the freezer on the 12Volt plug in to Papa Bear. We’re going to Lost Dutchman State Park – 2.5 hours from here. I’m not going to take Metaxa this time. But I’m going to pack a lunch – pick up a Tuna Sub at Loves. Just thinking I should try to overnight at Loves here in Benson one night to see how that works. Close to home and if it’s awful I could just come home. Probably not though before my trip because it’s too hot now. Wish I had thought of it earlier in the year.
Look what just got delivered!

I discovered something on my odyssey to Lost Dutchman State Park. First of all, I drove right by Picacho Peak State Park on my way and so I stopped in to get a sticker and a badge there on my way to Fort Apache. It was an intersting ride to the State Park. On the way I drove by a “National Monument” which looked interesting. It was the Casa Grande Ruins. I got a sticker and badge for that place also. Here is a picture of what it was:

It is very interesting. Here is another view:

I was also looking for a Saguaro Cactus with the blooms on it. Here is my picture of that:

I believe I got that picture while I was driving around Lost Dutchman State Park. Here is the video I took:
I’m going to end this now. I’m going to hook up Mama Bear to Papa Bear before it gets too hot to do it. And I’m going to bring her home so I can remove the bike rack and put it away. I’ve decided I don’t want to bring my bike with me – just another thing to worry about getting stolen on the trip. Not that that would ever happen. Time will tell as to whether it’s a good or bad idea. Thanks for visiting.
