Hello World,
Well this morning I wrote a post and apparently I “trashed” it rather than “Publish” it, so here I am again. Let’s see if I can resurrect it. That will be a challenge. First I said that it was too cold to ride Red to church. This was my first picture:
Church was great today – as always. 61 people and that is a lot for us. We’re trying to work a “budget” for this year and it’s very difficult. Only 20 people put in pledges – that is sad, but I guess a reality. We’ll see how it plays out.
Next I was saying I was going to wash Rose today because she is pretty dirty. Last week I had been speaking with Steve K about fixing my glove compartment. It was an idea I got from Steve E about that. So I got a call from Belinda who helps him and they are on a search for a “latch” rather than the whole glove box like VW wanted to do. These are the pictures I sent them:
We’ll see what they come up with. It would be nice to fix the glove box.
Next I was talking about how wonderful my cousin Dick is. He has painted most of the inside of my house. It hasn’t been easy for him as these picture show.
The “plant shelf” where he is kneeling is only about 6 inches wide so he was a little off balance once in a while and had one cheek on the shelf and his other foot on a rickety ladder. He is such a good sport about it and he got the second coat done in the bathroom alcove and along the back of the kitchen and above the yellow wall, to the wall facing the porch. So all that is left is the “common wall” between me and my neighbor. Problem with that is there is a “pitch” in the roof and it is about 18′ up. My ladder will reach there, but figuring out what to do about the paint is another issue. It will be a lot of going up and down the ladder which might be difficult. I was trying to figure out if I could help by climbing up on the other ladder while he does the rolling. Well I guess we’ll figure that out tomorrow as he is taking today off and will plan to start again tomorrow morning. Ace is open today, so I’m going to go down there with my coupon on my phone and buy another gallon of paint and a drop cloth and rollers. So, at least the main part of the house will be done. He’s amazing doing this and gets a bunch done in 4 hours. I can’t imagine how much he is saving me moneywise, but he is so gracious. He keeps telling me how much he loves doing it and I’m going to believe him!
This is how the painting affected Wylie and me:
Going to watch the Superbowl today later. I’ll probably not get through the whole thing. We’ll see. Made some awesome chili for the occasion. It’s a Paleo recipe and is called “The Bomb” and it really is! It turned out GREAT!
So I hope you all have a great day today and enjoy your Sunday. I’ll try to publish this by not clicking the “trash” button this time – that’s the only thing I can figure I did with the original blog. I was looking for a “trash” can, but couldn’t find one, so I suppose it’s lost forever. Thanks for visiting.

Mary, I apologize for comment above…it is exactly what I had on my mind. though. It’s prob one of my “better” response efforts.
Good (God) luck with the church financial issues and low participating number of members. That will all change. In my heart I KNOW it is a spiritual happening there, and in God’s time it will be fulfilled.
Reminds me of our Say evening meeting. A short year or so ago there were between 7 and 17 members attending, now the number hovers around 50-60…what happened? Something–Note capital “S”….
More painting Monday..God bless you both for working so hard, and really your cousin Dick, who is taking most of the risks. You will keep him hearing the “safety” word, I betcha! Please do…
I had a hard-working guy (in the program) pain inside of our house about a year or so ago, and it was $25 per hour. ($1,000) Labor, using his equipment. I thought it was high, but I guess not. WHO knows? Only the “Shadow” knows.
Having chili tonight during Super Bowl (Supper-Bowl?) but not the Paleo BOMB!!! (Y’all be CAREFUL Monday on those ladders. Seriously!
Bye, and of course…www
Maybe I should have quit after NOT writing the first comment–above. smiles!

I know ladders can be dangerous. We’ll be careful. We could hold off and I could get someone else to do the painting one day – and it will cost $$ so I’ll need to wait a little for that. We’ll see – more shall be revealed or concealed! :-)!
