Good Morning Sunday, March 8, 2015

Hello Everyone,

Today is the “TIME CHANGE” day.  We have to “Spring Ahead”.  So now that it is 6:30 AM, yesterday it was 5:30 AM – I think that is how it works.  It may be the opposite – it’s confusing.

Spring Forward

Spring Forward

My brother Bill is out in Arizona and they don’t change the time in that state.  So he said that now he will be 3 hours behind us, rather than 2 hours.  I’ll need to think about that when I call him.  It impacts our people at work also as they work over night and payroll needs to take that into consideration.  So tomorrow when I go in to do the payroll, I need to see how that worked and whether the timesheet needs to be amended.  BUT that is for tomorrow.  On with our day!

Today I had planned to do a little cooking.  I have the ingredients to make my Paleo Chili, but I’m not sure when I’m going to get to do it. I am planning on going to church around 8 to help with the “set up” and then after that, there is a picnic at The Vineyards:

The good news is that all of the events today are happening along Pine Ridge Road.  First Church, then Ham on Wry, then the memorial service for Jim C. at the 24 Hour Club at 3:30PM.  So that takes up most of my day.  But it will all be good.  I figure if I get home by 5PM I can still pull together the chili recipe and then just slow cook it over a couple of days.  I’ve never done it that way, but I suppose it will work.  I also have a couple of bananas that I would like to make into a batch of banana nut muffins.  That will probably have to wait until Monday.  We’ll see:

Here is the picture of “THE BOMB” Paleo Chili – it is SO GOOD!!!!!

I got a call last night from Steve Kirby about the service for Jim today.  Steve has been taking meetings to Jim at various times when he was “Special Needs” chair.  He got to know him through that and helped him resettle with “Ann” after he got out of rehab and back on his own.  He helped him move and all kinds of things.  Steve is another one of the “good guys”.  So we’ve had a discussion about a “service” for Jim and before we were able to get rolling on it, the 24 Hour Club announced the service.  In case you forget, this is a picture of “Jim the Poet”:

So Steve has a few of his “Poems” and will bring them to the service today, after Ham on Wry – he’s going to that too.  I have my “one” poem that I plan to bring – I posted that the other day.  I feel badly for Ann though, she wasn’t aware of the service today and is out of town.  It will be interesting to see how this thing goes today.  I’m sure it will be as it is supposed to be – it’s in God’s hands!

So I better get rolling, that’s about all for today – need to get ready for church and then the other things today!  Have a great day and thanks for “stopping” by!

You can cook the chili on the stove top, too. I’ve done it…prepare according to recipe and then simmer on stove for about an hour or so, and it’s good to go!

      Hey Cathy,
Thanks for the suggestion. I love this batch of chili. It is THE BEST YET! I put a bunch of yellow peppers in it and a red pepper and celery. I used some turkey sausage and ground chicken this time. It’s a fun recipe to “play” with.
Saw on your blog that you took your site down. I commented this morning.
Love you guys and miss you a bunch!

I thought the service for Jim was wonderful. Hung was so cool! Loved the wooden instrument. Do you know the name of it? Really set the tone for the remembrance.
