Good Morning Saturday, March 14, 2015

Good Morning World,

I need to make an amends to Steve.  So I’m letting everyone know that I was wrong to imply that the new meeting in Immokkalee may not succeed.  I certainly didn’t want to disparage his enthusiasm about starting a new meeting and I am sorry that I upset him.  So now we’ll just move on and let it go!

Today is St. Patrick’s Day in the eyes of the drunks along 5th Avenue today as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be making it’s way down Fifth Avenue this morning beginning at 10 AM or so from St. Ann’s Church.  Now I’m grateful that I don’t live down in Old Naples and can avoid that area today.  It will be like Key West at Fantasy Fest.  Lots of people celebrating to excess.  God love the drunks!  But the parade is fun for some.  I used to go watch it in my beach chair, but found parades a little boring after a while.  I do like the dance troups and the kids doing their thing.  I also like the marching bands.  It does give Naples a little “small town” feel.  I went to the “Greenway” the other day after work and it was “empty”.  I only saw one guy on the board walk and it was really very peaceful.  I posted this picture on FB:

We had the whole place to ourselves.  It was wonderful and the Greenway is getting better and better.  I can’t wait until it is completely finished.  I may even buy a bike to ride the entire length when it gets connected beyond the airport.  I just love Naples!  There is so much GOOD about it.  I think most of all after living in a community for over 40 years, it makes you appreciate your home more.

Today, I’m waiting for Jorge to come to clean my carpets.  I was noticing the “kitty” spots and now that it is almost completely repainted, this will make it even better.  The last room to paint is my bedroom and Dick and I will be doing that on the 21st – next Saturday.  After that is done, the last two things to be painted will be the bathrooms.  I guess I should think about getting new light fixtures before we do that.  I’m going to “live” with the current mirrors and medicine chests.  I kind of like them.  So this winter with both Dick and Doug here has been really productive.  They have moved into their new condo and have almost finished decorating it.  I haven’t been over there in a while so I’ll look forward to seeing it.  And then, what can I say about Dick painting my whole place?  It’s been amazing and I am so happy now.

I’m going to go out to the store now.  Haven’t been to my favorite store in a while, so I’m off to Walmart.  I’m excited because I have Monday off.  I will probably go to the Botanical Gardens on Monday.  Don’t really have any other plans.  So today I’m leaving you with a barrel of “Cute”ness:

Is this the cutest dog EVER? Cousin Riley!

I like “move on and let it go” or that other favorite line, “how important IS it?”
That’s a “keeper” Rose sitting all alone in that lot. 50 years from now someone will post that photo, calling it the “old days”.

Monday, I go to my favorite place in Naples, the Dentist. Actually he is a boutique dentist, quite an operation. Patients look out over Naples Bay, and the multi-million-dollar boats sitting out there with their “crews” cleaning and stocking for the next trip to New Zealand or the Pacific Islands. You almost forget that someone is literally trying to HURT you–and you are PAYING them to do so (sigh)

The barrel of “cuteness” photos produced a wide smile–showing those teeth which are shivering in anticipation of Monday’s 8 AM visit…. I had toyed with notion of a Garden visit after, but more shall be revealed. It is GOOD to be so busy, then when ya DO get time to relax, it feels almost like it was earned. I like the Garden…just to sit sometimes. Plenty places to do that in Naples. But in that place I feel just a little “bit-o-heaven” (“Irish” talk!!!)

Hey I need a nap, slept very little during the dark night. SO goodbye, FUN to read what’s going on in Mary’s World.

Enjoy whatever you do…it is how I do also. Guess it is like “praising God”…..
