Our first camping trip together with Daisee2!

We got a guy to take this picture of us on our first day, which was Monday.  We’re back home now and we really had an adventure:

Me and Daisee2

This is a picture of me with the awning out (before the mishap) at our campsite #57. I thought I had made a reservation for this trip for a campsite, but all I had from them was a receipt of the ticket to the tour on Tuesday at 10:20. So I called them before we were supposed to leave – I think it was SUNDAY and there was no reservation for us. Luckily, there was a site left which was a pull through. I couldn’t believe our luck – a pull through – a day before we were supposed to arrive. This is the sunset view on our 2nd night:

Sunset from our site

And this was another picture. The phone doesn’t give it justice, but it’s pretty good:

Sunset 2

Amazing sunsets out here! Here is a view of sunrise from inside Daisee2 on our second day:

Sunrise Day 2
Jack at our site #57 – all set up

This was the first time we camped together and the first time he camped with an RV. It was great. So the last night – we had a fire each night:

Great fires each night!

We started to bring in the awning for the night and it broke – it totally fell apart at the passenger door end. We couldn’t believe it! Our neighbor in the next site, Ray, came over to see if he could help. So he and Jack took apart the cover for the the top of the awning where the motor for it was. They somehow pieced it all together and when it was set up again, I tried to bring it in. NADA. No power to it. So we checked the breakers etc. Nothing helped so I called the Lightning Fast people and they returned my call saying they don’t work on Carefree Awnings – they hate that company – but she was good enough to give me two other names of RV service people. I left a message with them – after hours and after it was dark so I didn’t expect any call back until the next morning ( this morning ) and that happened.

Here is a video I took at our fire last night with the awning down like a “bat wing”. It’s kind of dark but I think you should be able to see it:

Fire and the broken awning.

Anyway, I got so excited about the awning, I never got a picture of it hanging down in the day light.  I spoke with one of the Camp Hosts – Kevin – and he said I needed to speak with Bill Goddard – our camp host – about whether we could stay another night.  I didn’t think we’d be able to get it fixed in a day.  But as I walked by Ray’s rig this morning he came over to say he had “thought about it all night” and figured he had wired it incorrectly.  Jack thought the same thing.  So with a little advice from the 2 camp hosts, Ray and Jack working on it this morning in the day light they determined that was the issue.  So they rewired it and low and behold – it worked.  So it’s all fixed.  Without a service call from an RV Repair guy.  Free of charge!  Now THAT is what I call Kindness in the Kampground.  We had the best situation and such a super result of just people wanting to help people asking nothing in return.  Love this RV LIFE!

So the Full moon is on Friday, but it was so big and clear on our trip.  Here is a picture of the fire, Daisee2 and the moon:

Almost full moon

So when I got back today and checked my mail this was there:

Vanity Plate – Now I won’t have a problem remembering my tag!

I’m continuing this on Monday, November 22, 2021. So this happened:

Odie came out

We’ve been trying to get Odie to adjust to me being in the house, so yesterday, he came out and walked around the kitchen while I was there.  Now we’re needing to bring him to my house to get to know Metaxa.  Life is GOOD!

SO this happened yesterday:

OTIS3

I sold Papa Bear and bought OTIS3.  It belonged to Jack and he was going to sell it and I want a car that can be towed behind DAISEE2 and this can be towed.  I need to get the BLUE OX system that I sold to Susan – who knew????  Anyway, we’re planning a rally with a Born Free group to California in April and it’s near Joshua Tree National Park.  So much excitement with DAISEE2.  Life is SO GOOD!
