Good Morning World,
Today is Tuesday and I’m back to work after a long weekend. When I get back to work, there will be a LOT of “catch up” to do. I’ll have email galore to go through and stuff will be piled up on my desk that did not get attended to while I was gone. But I realized that it is St. Patrick’s Day and that brought a smile to my face and I’ll need to remember to wear Green today. I bought a “lighted” necklace that I can wear to work today. Although everyone has been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day since Saturday – today is the real day. So now my attitude has completely turned around.
Plus, yesterday was one of my most “productive” days off. I called a couple of friends about borrowing their power washers and they no longer had them so I was going to go to Home Depot to “rent” one. But then I decided to just run down to my favorite ACE hardware and I bought one. It was only $100 and I got $10 off because I had a coupon. That is another reason I LOVE ACE. Coupons that are really meaningful. AND they are just about ready to move into their own building. It’s just up the road on 41 and it looks beautiful. Their move in date is April 13th. Now that is going to be GREAT! So look at this cute little POWERFUL POWER WASHER:
At first I thought it was broken because it would not turn on. There are a lot of connections and it takes a lot of time to set it up the first time. I finally got it to work after plugging it into an outlet that worked. I don’t think my outlets on the porch work which is frustrating. But then again, maybe it’s just that there needs to be a switch turned on. But the plug wouldn’t fit into the waterproof boxes out there anyway so I needed an extension cord. So finally after getting it to plug in and start running, the nozzle only sprayed out in a tiny stream. I could have written my name in the dirt! I looked for an attachment, but there wasn’t one. It was frustrating me and I knew that if I used this little pencil-thin stream, it would take a whole day! I looked on the box and there were “accessories” I could buy so I called ACE to see if they had them. No was the answer. Well so I thought I could hold off doing this until I ordered one of the “accessories”. But finally, I turned the nozzle and it opened up a larger stream of water and that was what I was looking for. Now I was off and running. I took a “before and after” picture. I’m not sure they show the difference all that well, but believe me, the porch (lanai in Florida – porch up North) is BEEEUTIFUL to quote Steve E.:
As much as they still look the same, the porch is so much better now. I just love walking out there and “admiring” it. Funny how little things like that make me happy. Using a powerwasher is so perfect for a person with OCD like me – also translated into an “alcoholic” mind. I saw such improvement as it was being done and although it was a LOT of work and a LOT of water, it is SO worth it. I had been noticing how dirty the porch was for a while. The cats would go out and roll around on the concrete and come back in the house full of dirt. The railings were green with mold and the furniture was really gritty. So everything got power washed yesterday. Now it’s nice to have clean furniture and a clean floor. Can’t wait to come home tonight and sit out there!
But wait……today is the 3rd Tuesday of the month and I have my monthly “Grapevine” meeting so porch sitting will have to wait until 7PM. But with the time change, I should have about an hour of sunlight left. I think I’ll eat dinner out there tonight with the cats running around on a beeutiful, clean porch! That should get me through the day with good thoughts and happy feelings!
Another thing I did was go to the Grapevine Meeting at the Serenity Club. This week was a little different than before. I was the only woman at the meeting which reminded me of the New Attitudes Club. But at the end one girl jumped in from I don’t know where? But the meeting was “Grape” even though I had to “sneak in” my plug about the Grapevine Meeting during the time that I “shared” since there is no mention of “announcements” by “Roy” the leader (I think that is his name). Maybe by the time I get to that meeting a few more weeks in a row I’ll remember! I can’t remember if they say they have a business meeting. If they do, I’ll try to make it unless they have it on a Thursday rather than Monday. I bought my ticket for the Rock & Roll Recovery Bash for April 25th. I have to move my hair appointment to earlier in the day if possible. I’ll need to call Karen about that today – note to self!
Time to go. Have a BEEEUTIFUL day today! Thanks for visiting.

power washer….I’m very impressed! Wish you were here to share in our corned beef and cabbage. For the first time ever, I’m brining my own brisket. We’ll see how it tastes tonight! Have a great day!

Hey Cathy,
I would never attempt a “Brisket”. That is brave of you! I’m sure you did it just right and it is amazing! I’m still doing the Paleo/Wheat Belly thing. Not perfectly, but pretty good. I still miss sandwiches on the weekend!
