Hello Everyone,
Today is Sunday and I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing day. I had a great day yesterday – all things aligned and it was productive and peaceful. It started out with a bike ride on RED2 to Publix for the cookies for our meeting at The Naples Group. That was my “exercise” for the day because it was early before it got so darn HOT! I found that it was a pretty nice ride and now I’ll do it more often. I need to get a basket for my bike. I thought I kept the one I had before but apparently not.
Next thing was Food Angels. When I got to The Current, I was surprised by all of the fresh produce that was donated. I believe it came from Wynn Dixie. I was concerned that it wouldn’t fit in Ty to go to St. Matt’s, but I was wrong……
There were many cartons of Strawberries and Blackberries and fresh lettuce and 6 cases of bananas and red, yellow, orange and green peppers, and cabbage, and leeks and broccoli. I always get a great feeling doing this project for The Current called “Food Angels”. My job is to just pack up the “leftovers” and take them to St. Matt’s. Dara Albert started this outreach. We also have a “homeless family” that lives in the woods somewhere off of 951 that gets the items. I’m going to take the flyer to work and offer it to our P.I.C. (Partners In Caring) to let our partners know that this is available. There wasn’t many families yesterday because we moved to The Current from a church in Naples Park and the “word” isn’t out yet. But I’m sure as time goes on, we’ll be able to get more folks to come. I took some strawberries, blackberries and banana’s plus a head of broccoli. Believe me, St. Matt’s got a “ton” so my little bit didn’t impact that at all. One of the women there said that she slices up the strawberries and freezes them. I’m going to try that and I can add them to yogurt that way. But I like to just eat the fresh strawberries and black berries as “brain” food. I can use all the help I can in that department!
After delivering the food to St. Matt’s, I took Ty to Airport Kia to “fix” my OnStar mirror. They couldn’t fix it. It is still flashing “alert” but since I can contact OnStar with it, I’m going to “let it go” and not worry about it any longer. Even though the diagnoses from OnStar says it is some sort of problem with the battery back up – the Kia guys couldn’t see a “battery back up”. I think I’ll write “OnStar” about this issue. Guess I’m not really ready to “let it go”!
My next project was to move my computer back into the “office/den” of my house. I’ve been deliberating about getting rid of my “desktop” computer and I hadn’t done anything about it. I find that I don’t use it very often because of the outdated operating system and it is really slow. I love my laptop because it is so quick. Anyway, was talking to my friend Steve and he was telling me that he just uses his laptop with a wireless keyboard and a big screen and it got me thinking I could do that too. So yesterday we learned that Office Max/Depot was selling a wireless keyboard/mouse combination for $39. rather than the regular price of $50. So I stopped by Office Max on my way to The Current and they had “one” left. So I bought it and ta dah!!!!!!!!
Wylie likes it too! Now my dining room table can be just for Domino to sack out on and I won’t have so much “junk” on that table. My printer is still on the side board, but that is “wireless” too and I just send the stuff that I want to print to that printer or the one on top of my desk and all is well. So now my desk and den are being used as they should be. This is VERY GOOD news! So now I just need to get that “speaker” set up for my laptop. I don’t think my computer speakers will work on my desk top….yes they do fit. Going to try them now. Be right back……just tested them and they work fine, but I still may want the one that Steve has – depends on the cost.
So now I’m going to go get ready for church. I need to buy cookies for “fellowship” today on my way so I need to get going a little early. But that is all I need to do today so I can get there around 9AM today. Actually I have a couple of hours before I need to do that, but I won’t bore you with another couple of hours on Wylie. Think I’ll go slice up the strawberries! Have a GRAPE day today. It’s gonna be a wonderful day!

It gives such good “feelings” when a friend has a day during which things just seem to CLICK! Glad you had that kind of Saturday, Mary.
That “food” thing is quite the story…how a FEW can help SO MANY…it is the way God intended I betcha!
From childhood (late 1930’s) until now (2015) I never, but NEVER ate fruit. NOW my favorite times are twice a day I make myself a concoction of banana, strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries and peaches, mixed with my MEDIFAST powder and water…it is a huge drink, but all that is fewer than 300 calories–twice a day, and I’m LOVING it. Lost 40 pounds since April 1…BTW, ALL this fruit I keep in freezer, so it will last long after “season”–I HOPE!
Sorry, I just had to throw in my own “food” experience, b/c I AM excited about it. And feel SO GOOD these months.
Hope things “click” for you every day this week, Mary, and your days are less stress (stressless?)…Thanks for posting, and allowing me to put in my 2¢ worth PEACE!

I appreciate your 2 cents. I’m going to blend up the overripe bananas and strawberries and black berries and blue berries too. That is one way to use them up. Thanks for the reminder.
