RV Life with DAISEE2 #159 Thursday, February 26, 2026

Good Morning Everyone.  I thought I would start another blog since the last one was about the new Corvette and my trip to Cattail Cove.  I am now looking forward to my trip to Lost Dutchman on March 12th.  It will be dry camping in the GROUP AREA.  It is usually a great rally.  I’ve been to it twice before.  I really like it.  I’m hoping it will be cooler than it is currently in MESA.  We’ll probably hit 80 today.  I’m going for a walk in the neighborhood because Jack needs to JEEP to go to the lab.  We’re waiting for insurance on this so he can drive it:

I did my neighborhood walk yesterday – Jack had the JEEP!

Met a couple that Jack has known for years – Dale & Kathy.  They live in Sun City during the winter and Pinetop during the summer – they consider Pinetop their “home”.  I’d like to go up there in the summer when it is so blasted HOT here in Mesa.  They were really nice!

We’re getting our new washing machine today.  Our 2 year old washer died a while back.  The new one cost about $700!  WOW!  I sure hope this one lasts.  We got a warrantee on it so fingers crossed.  I’ll take pictures to add here.

Here is the old washer waiting to be removed:

Next we had to take the corvette out of the garage:

Got the WAGGLE to work in DAISEE2 yesterday also!

Bill and Cathy sold my “LOOK” trailer.  Sent me $1600 for it!  Nice surprise.  That helps pay for the new washer!  Speaking of the new washer – here it is in all it’s glory – gonna do wash today!

Let’s hope this is true!

I’m trying to insert videos from my DashCam for my trip to Cattail Cove State Park.  I have to do it through my YouTube Channel.

Bill, Cathy, Winston and Rich are boondocking 35 miles from home near Empire Ranch.  They found the spot while JEEPING.  I’m sorry I’m not doing that with them, but they are having fun.  They’ll be leaving at the end of March for YNP.  I’m trying to get a reservation to see them at Lake Pleasant at the end of the month.  They never called me back so I thought I’d try them again.  But in the meantime – here they are boondocking:

Just got a site #59 at Lake Pleasant for the 30th & 31st to see Bill, Cathy & Winston and their new rig before they leave for YNP!  Yippee!

It’s funny that sometimes my WAGGLE camera takes pictures in color: & sometimes in Black & White

Stole some great pictures from Facebook from the full BLOOD Moon the other night:

They are still boondocking – it was cold enough for a fire.  As opposed to our A/C going on yesterday!

This is how our front yard cactus looks now – I believe it’s grown a bit since we moved in here.  Let me see if I can find another picture of it:

Final night boondocking!

Still JEALOUS!

I went to an art class this morning, Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Read Hall.  It was for mosaics.  It was fun.  This is how it started:

This is how it finished.  They will put the grout on it and I can pick it up on Monday.  I’ll post another picture of the real finished product.

Ran across this picture of Jonathan and Kristin while scrolling through pictures.  It’s a great one of the two of them:

I wonder what they are up to these days!

Found this one of their dad too:

Four more days and I’ll be here:

YAY!

I just got a notice that we’ll be going to Holbrook in September before the convention.  The convention is from the 19th to the 27th.  I don’t know how long I’ll be going to that, but I might stay the whole time, we’ll see.  ANYWAY, I’ll make my reservation at the KOA sometime today.  It’s exciting.  Shannon, Sue and I are going to ZION in September of ’27.  Here is a video of the campground.  We have to wait until 6 months out to make the reservation.  We’re going to stop in Page on the way out. I guess we’ll need to do that on our way back too, but I might research a Harvest Host in the area instead.

Here is another place I want to check out someday:

Picked up my mosaic today.  I like the way it turned out.

Leaving for Lost Dutchman today, Thursday, March 12, 2026.  It will be HOT/WARM this weekend.  Next weekend it is supposed to be over 100 during the day.  THAT IS WAY TOO SOON!  Anyway, we’ll see how it goes.  I’m looking forward to it today.  Not leaving until 1:30 because we’re not supposed to be there until 2.  I’m 30 minutes away!  I’m leaving Metaxa at home.  Can’t run the A/C all day for her on a generator.  She’ll be better off at home, but I’ll miss her!  I’m getting up at 4:30 because of the time change on the east coast (and other places, but not Arizona) so it is still dark and Jack is sleeping!

This was the first year I went to this rally.  First time in DAISEE2.  I was having battery problems, but that is all resolved now.  This is where I was last year:

I’ll take a picture of this years’ spot.  I’m looking forward to going even though it will be HOT.  It’s been COLD the last 2 years.  What’s a person to do?

I’m having trouble with my BOA credit card.  I got a charge of $2200 on it from Thai Airlines.  I’ve subsequently received a credit for it as I disputed it.  I cancelled the card last week because I got some weird phone calls and felt it was a scam.  I cancelled the card and they sent out another one for me, but before I could get that one, we had to cancel it because of the bad charge.  Now I’m waiting for yet ANOTHER card.  I’m using my COSTCO VISA instead.  I had to put TOVALA on it this morning.  So I’ll be getting all of those auto pays fixed on the new card when it comes in.  Especially AMAZON!  I’m having to thing twice about buying from Amazon at this time.  It’s HARD!

When we go to ZION in September ’27 we should try this park coming or going.  Also the Antelope Marina RV Park is OK, but not the best.  Also there is a beach campground in UTAH that looks cool – FCFS though, so I’m not sure we should try that, plus I’d hate to get stuck in the sand:
