Happy Valentine’s Day 2026! It’s cold in MESA – 49 degrees! But today we’re getting a new corvette (it’s Jack’s):

This is a picture of Jack’s RED and Lloyd’s BLUE. He is buying Lloyd’s BLUE one today. Lloyd wants a newer model. It’s taken a while, but we’re picking it up today at 10AM. I’ll take lots of pictures!
I leave for Cattail Cove on Wednesday for 4 nights. I’m looking forward to that. It will be cold! I’ll take Metaxa so she can keep me warm, like she is doing right now by sitting on my lap. Time for coffee “inside” so I’ll be back later.
We now have a BLUE corvette in our garage:

Here is a picture of Jack’s old RED corvette and Lloyd’s old (now it’s Jack’s) BLUE corvette: Duplicated the picture!!!

They really are pretty cars. They keep them PERFECT! I still like my JEEP though!

ANYWAY, back to the new baby:

More pictures:

I think we’re done with vehicles for a while. Let us hope!
Janet sent out this picture of “the gang” back in the day – I think we were in Texas:
We had a great sunrise this morning on President’s Day – 2/16/26:

I left at 9AM to go to Cattail Cove with the ladies! Got here at 12:30. Easy and pleasant drive. It did rain, but the rig stayed pretty clean. In fact I need to check it out to be sure. ANYWAY I’m in Site 38 which is right next to the bathroom which is pretty great really. Marie is up in the new area up the hill. The sites are full hook ups. That is nice. I wonder if they are more expensive. Anyway, I have my site (#20) for next February. Here is my spot this year:

Another view:

It is beautiful now. It’s sunny and breezy. It was really windy driving up here. The wind has died down a little. Here is my Starlink set up this year:

This is how I had it last year:

This was before I got the VERITAS cover. I like it much better now – indestructible!
I’m debating about whether to put my rug out. I don’t see any BIG STONES to hold it down. It is a little windy for a rug I think. We’ll see what I decide as the days go by. The rally doesn’t really start until tomorrow at HAPPY HOUR. I think I’ll go out for a walk around the campground and get some exercise. I’ll leave TAXI to protect the rig! Watching Nomad Brad in his box truck. I forgot my folder for this rally so I don’t have everything I usually have – like the AGENDA for these 3 days. OH well, I have it on my computer and I’ll take a picture of it.
It is THURSDAY February 19, 2026. I slept until 7:30AM today. I set my alarm to get up for my meeting, but is was too cold to get up for it. I’ll go on Sunday……maybe! Anyway these were my temps this morning:

I love this new weather station because I can read the time and date on it from the bed. That is HUGE! I have a nice view out of my window from my computer of the mountains across the Colorado to California:

I got the Waggle Camera to work last night – only tried once and it worked! WOW!

If you look closely at this picture you can see Metaxa in my lap! I just LOVE my camper. It is so comfortable. I’m glad it is a 2022. I feel it has a LOT of years ahead – especially for me when I’m alone camping. I really feel free in here. I love my life in MESA with Jack and the baby kitties, but coming camping with Metaxa is such freedom for me. I could live in here if I needed to, but I don’t think that will ever happen.
It is a beautiful sunny day here today. I love the windows by the dining table. They are SO BIG and the view is spectacular. I’m really HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY! I’m going to get dressed soon and go for a walk around the campground. I like seeing other rigs. But I’m really happy with my rig. It is perfect for me.
I got some great dash cam from yesterday’s drive up here, but I can’t remember how to get it to YouTube so I can put it in here. Let me try some more:
I figured it out. I just go to the video and “copy” it and “paste” it here. Let’s see if I can do it again:
It takes a long time to upload, but it should work. We’ll see! Didn’t work. Now the videos are erased. OH well, next time. The ride up here is really amazing!

Took a nice walk this morning. Walked down by the beach and up to the upper campground. Saw Jim and Marie. He brought his motorcycle. I need to know how he carries it. Probably on the back fender with a tray of some sort. It’s a small Triumph. Anyway, here are some pictures – the sky is SO BLUE and it is nice and cool. 56 outside, 65 inside.

Beach 2:

Even though the wind has died down today, I don’t think I’ll be kayaking – too cold. But it’s great just sitting and blogging in DAISEE2 with Metaxa: She found the sun!

Back to the walk – other pictures: Parker DAM:

They have been working on the upper campground here for 15 years and it is finally open. Just half of it. The second half is opening in March. I thought this wasn’t here last year, but apparently it was:

More pictures from the walk today – not a hike!

Last year we did this: ROVEY’S NEEDLE: Not again!

Glad I can say I did it! It was tough!
This is the upper campground. I stole it from FB:

Here are my temps this morning. Taxi is on my lap keeping me warm, but I have the radiator on “1” to warm it up a little.

I love this new weather station. I can see what time it is and the date from my bed. It’s really great!
Today we’re going on a HIKE around the park. Marie is leading – she says it’s really nice. I think it’s probably the same hike we took last year. I’ll take pictures. The wind has died down this morning. I have new neighbors and they brought a little motorboat. Still too cold for me on the water. We’ll see if they go out.
We went on a hike this morning. It was 2 hours and I’m glad we did it, but I don’t think I’ll do another one like it because I have a sore toe. Somehow it is bleeding a bit and I don’t want to irritate it any more. Here are a couple of pictures from today:

That is my shadow in the picture on purpose.

Shannon!

Parks Dam:

This was very cool. LOOK AT ALL THE HUMMINGBIRDS!
The four of us took the longer hike: Barb, Shannon, Marie and me!

Beginning again on Saturday, February 21, 2026. It is COLD this morning!

I am running the furnace and the radiator and it is now 58 inside. I’ll turn the furnace off when I get up to get my first cup of coffee. I’m hoping it will turn off by itself. We’ll see. Now the “noisemaker” is off and just the radiator is running on “2”. 60 degrees inside now. Very toasty.
So today is a busy day. Starting off with Danish at 9. I’ll go to be sociable, but won’t have a Danish. Still not having sugar. Patty lost another 10 pounds without sugar and flour. My weight loss is very slow. I think I’m only down 3 pounds. But will continue and I hope to be down 15 pounds before I go to YNP in JUNE. I think that’s a good goal. Time will tell. It is just 7AM and the sun is just coming up. I can’t tell if it’s cloudy or clear yet. After Danish, we’re having a little craft project. I’ll go to support Marie. It’s making a paper box. I might be fun. Card Bingo at 11. Must remember to take quarters!
The sun is coming up!

Last year I did this:

Not going to happen this year. It is WAY TOO COLD. Plus I remember last year that the wind came up and I thought I would flip over – a little scary!
Next year I’ll be in site 20:

Shannon and I went for a ride to Parker Dam and then drove around a little through Parker. We like Buckskin Mountain State Park. They wouldn’t let us drive through it, but we really liked it and will make reservations there one day to stay there. We DID make reservations for January 2027 at Catalina State Park in Tucson from Monday the 11th to Friday the 15th. That will be instead of going to Q with the ladies. YAY!
Last day at Cattail Cove – leaving this morning. Not sure when, but these are the temps this morning:

Warmer than yesterday and I didn’t need the heater. It’s tucked away for the ride. Coffee is brewing. I’ll give Jack a call soon. I can’t get over how good Metaxa was this time. She slept most of the night and under the covers with me. I think she was cold!
Today is February 24th and my mom’s birthday. She would have been 111 today! WOW!

Marie and Char skit:

These are my helpers this morning!
