#256 Good Morning Sunday, October 11, 2015

Hello World,

So today I woke up and wasn’t really planning to blog, but started thinking about my friend Steve E.  Yesterday I went to visit with Anna his wife.  She is hanging in…..her sponsor is close by at all times.  Amazing how this program works.  I finally figured out where her house is.  I kept turning at the wrong street and then needed to back track.  The streets in Golden Gate are very confusing if you don’t live there.  Anyway, she gave me a bag full of “stuff” that she had collected that had to do with his meeting in Immokalee and with Intergroup.  There was an envelope with $96 in it that he had collected from “the basket” at the meeting.  He had written down the collection amounts.  Also, in the envelope was a spreadsheet that documented every bit of income and outgo of the funds for the group.  The last entry was on September 20th, the day he died.  It saddened me, but as God works this program, Danny and Roberta came to our Saturday night meeting last night all the way from Ave Maria.  Danny is helping to keep the meeting alive so I passed the envelope to him.  There was also an envelope for Pastor Thom with a “Love Offering” for the use of the space.  I’m thinking about going to the meeting tonight.  I think I’ll call around to see if anyone is going tonight.  It was fun the other night when Polly, Heather and I drove up together.  Time will tell.  I’ll keep praying about it.  I could also hitch a ride with Faye possibly.

I was looking at Steve’s Blog this morning (http://stfourthdimension.blogspot.com/ ).  He was pretty amazing for an 82 year old.  One of his entries was about downloading Windows 10 to his new “HP” baby computer.  He and I both had an ASUS.  When he got his, the first one he had to return because it didn’t work correctly.  Then he got another one that had a cool outside case that didn’t smudge with finger prints – I was jealous, so I went out and bought a cover/case for mine so I don’t have to worry about that any longer.  This is the case:  Note it is “purple”:

I love that little computer.  It is the perfect size to “carry around”.  My laptop (which I love too) is full of most of my projects and is bigger and heavier.  I take it with me to my volunteer time at Intergroup on Fridays.  I love the feel of the keyboard and it has so much stuff on it, that I need on occasion.  I’ve used my little ASUS to blog on Wylie, but it’s harder because the keyboard is small, but has a good feel so it is good.  One of the things I love the ASUS for is to watch movies while on the couch.  It’s the perfect size and fits on my stomach on a pillow just right.  I plug in the earphones so Domino doesn’t freak out.  He always gets agitated when sound comes from my phone or computer.  It’s funny!  Anyway, to get back to Steve’s 2nd ASUS……. that one was a lemon also (according to him) so he returned it and bought a beautiful mid-sized Hewlett Packard mini computer.  It was a beautiful blue color and he would bring it to our Friday “sessions” and show it off.  He was so proud of it.  Plus he downloaded Windows 10 on it and was proud of that – he even blogs about it on his blog.  I’m so happy I have that blog to go back to.  I makes me realize what a wonderful guy he was and how talented.  I’m going to see if I can “copy” one of his poems…..be right back:

LOVE

What else so vital

as that which is the only?
And unrequited

Does Creator feel?

He–Who gives and gives as we
live lives unreal?

So one of the reasons I wanted to see Anna was because a friend in the program wanted to offer his gift of singing for Steve’s memorial on November 7th.  He has a beautiful voice – I first heard him sing at Terry O’Connell’s service a couple of weeks ago.  His name is Ken Helton and he is the treasurer of Intergroup.  He is fairly new to Naples, but has a lot of sobriety.  He substitutes in the CCPS and today happens to be his birthday – 61 (I learned that on FB).  Anyway, he offered to sing if Anna wanted him to do that so I gave her his name to contact.  There is definitely going to be music at the memorial.  “Someone” is orchestrating that for her.  But she thought about it and thought if Ken could sing “It’s a Wonderful World” that would be awesome.  Steve was all about “WWW” – both as computer things and also “What a Wonderful World” – he often just signed off as www on his texts.  So it would be really cool if that works out.  Again…….time will tell.

Well it’s time for me to get rolling.  I need to take the cookies to church this morning so I have to go.  Thanks for visiting!  Leave a message if you do.  I miss that Steve isn’t commenting any longer but I’m sure he is looking down from above.
