Good Morning World and Bill and Cathy!
So I guess Bill and Cathy are “settled” in Arizona because Cathy commented yesterday on my posting! Thanks Cathy. So yesterday there were lot’s of costumes at work. Let me see if I can get a picture of all of my colleagues! Gotta love Facebook!
Halloween at Work
Becky, Betty, Courtney, Jackie & Barb. Not the greatest picture, but you can tell they went “all out”. I wore my swimsuit for about 45 minutes. Just long enough to show my support. I have to say, the party was amazing. Becky is SO talented! She made most of the food herself because we are finding that out “dining services” charge a LOT OF MONEY. It’s a shame. But I think Becky likes to do it. She made bat shaped cheese and “eye ball” devil eggs. It was really cute, plus candy galore! I ate a couple of strawberry licorice sticks – can’t resist that. Candy corn is another favorite, but with my “counting calorie” thing, I passed on that. A lot of residents cooperated and wore outfits too. The activities department is so great. I think if I “retire” soon, I’d like to work for them. Maybe. I’m still deliberating about that and will for a while. After paying my phone bill and my car payment this morning, retirement is farther away than I’d like. But if I can “make it work”, Medicare really does pay as I’m finding out. Fortunately I’m healthy now so I wouldn’t need too much. But of course that will change as I get older.

Today I’m traveling to The Naples Grande for Serenity by the Sea. I’m continuing to set up the Grapevine Display and have the “Guess the Grapes” game supervised by Roy:

He has changed his outfit now. I’ll try to get another picture of him. The balloons just got too cumbersome so he’s stepped it up a little.

So this weekend, Roy and I are “manning” the booth. He’s going to run the game and hang around. I said I’d stay at Reception to help there. Found out there may be around 400 people there. Not as great a turn out as in the past, but they sold 200 Banquet Tickets, although I found out with “Sisters by the Sea”, we don’t make any money on the banquet. So it’s gonna be fun. I said I wasn’t going to spend the night at the hotel, but I may change my mind. I didn’t make any provision for feeding the kitties and I plan to set up the Saturday night BB meeting and coffee. I may return for the speaker tonight after the BB meeting. That is still to be determined. We’ll see. I think I’ll cover all my bases and take stuff like I’m going to stay over. I’m sharing a room with Betsy. She’s having “issues” with her new marriage. I think she is unhappy but I don’t really know her all that well, but she is one person who I think regrets she retired early. So I think I’ll pick her brain a little.
Well, I’ve got to get rolling. Need to count the Grapes for the the game, take a few Christmas Lights for the Display and then go back to the Hotel. Have a great Halloween everyone! BOO! Thanks for stopping by!
