Good Morning World and Bill and Cathy and those beyond!
This is a busy weekend. Starting off with changing my bed! Ha Ha! I read that I’m supposed to change my bed every week “at least”. THAT doesn’t happen in this house. So today is the day! Next I’m starting laundry and taking off for The Heart Walk at 8AM and then the Alzheimer’s Walk at 10AM. So why they have to be on the same day is beyond me, but now that the day is here, I’m glad it’s working out that way. It will keep me busy until we have the service for Steve today at 1PM. Then I have the Big Book Study at 5:30 and then on Sunday it is The Correction’s Picnic. Our annual fundraiser. I sit at the door (entrance) and sell tickets with Haven. It will be a long, and busy weekend. I’m taking Monday off and will rest up unless I get called in because “State” is here. We’re all waiting nervously for that event – the SURVEY. Lily is all agitated about it and consequently makes everyone else crazy too. But it is important and very stressful. So that is what I’m dealing with right now.
First Picture: 2 Tee Shirts for today!
The Heart Walk Tee Shirt was designed by our Art Teacher at Moorings Park. We won the contest a few years ago. I hope we do again – and I love the pink color. Of course the Alzheimer’s shirt is good too since it is purple and I can wear it for the Grapevine and for Alzheimer’s!
My girlfriends went to Nashville for a “mini” Beaches. Jennifer and I didn’t go. I have no interest in going to Nashville. Plus I didn’t want to spend the money. Here is a picture of their exploits:
They look terrific! I bet they had fun! Still happy I didn’t go! They look a little cold. Not sure I would have thought about how cold it might get!
So today we celebrate Steve’s Life. I will be glad when it’s over. Time to move on and this should do it. I’m not sure I’m going to have time to change my clothes from the “walks” this morning, but I guess I’ll put clothes in the car for that. I’m still not sure whether I’ll say anything. I’ll let God lead the way for that. I do miss him. I went to Intergroup yesterday and my Friday’s are not the same since he’s not there nudging me to think about things I don’t like to think about. He was like that. A little annoying at times, but had a huge heart and loved his work in AA. He had a wonderful life and I think it will be a wonderful service showing that. Russell is catering it. We’ve decided to use Russell for the Naples Group Anniversary Dinner. The proposal wasn’t really very detailed, but I’m sure he’ll do a fine job. We’ll keep the ticket price down to $20. That will be easier to sell and it’s a “sell out” anyway every year. Only 130 seats available. (128 with the 2 seats we hold for the speaker) who hasn’t been announced yet. I’m glad I don’t have to do that.
I better get going. Time to get some things done before it take off for the day. Thanks for visiting!
R.I.P. Steve Elsaesser……..
