Good Morning World,
So today is “Hump Day”! I always think of Bruce Frogge when I think of Hump Day because he wanted to lead a Camel Parade in town during Epiphany. He never got it going in Naples, but with his big church in Texas they’ve done it for 3 years:
I still love Bruce and if I ever get to Texas I’m going to go to his church. He was instrumental in getting me back to church and I’ll be forever grateful to him. He’s one of the good ones! But not to be undone by him, Jonny and Ale can keep him on his toes:
It took me a while to find the picture, but I had it in my library all of the time. I thought I’d get it from Ale’s FB page but it was it was in my library. So anyway moving on.
I’ve been thinking about retirement again. I had a bit of a breakdown at work the other day. I get so frustrated with the schedule and having screw ups working at work and such drama in their families causing others to suffer. It gets really old! So I alluded to needing someone to take over for me to Lily. She knows I can retire soon. I wrote a note to John Beane asking if he really knew whether the “spousal” credit is “going away” in March. If that is so, I think I want to be sure to sign up for it before then which would mean I’d need to take advantage of it by then. That gives me 2 months to get my act together. But then the question is, if I signed up for it and it “goes away” would that mean it would go away for me too? I think I’ll take a day off and hang out at the SS office to figure this out. I told Lily I wanted a day off. I realized that I think some things were just catching up with me from the time she was away for 2 weeks. Now our license is due and so she is scrambling to get it done and throwing things at me all day long. I’ve been able to catch up, but it’s really annoying. I think I’m just tired of all of the shit that happens there and I need a change. So we’ll see. I’ll keep you posted.
One of the reasons I still need to work is that I like to buy things. I finally got my phone purse: Note the pretty purple:
It is really NEAT! I can put my license and a credit card along with some cash in it. I like the little strap so I can hang it on my wrist. I really like it and having it be PURPLE is sweet! I am also considering buying an Apple Watch. A couple of people I know have them and I think they are pretty neat. But instead, I bought a “FIT BIT” for $150. I’ll have it on Friday so I can play with it and set it up over the weekend in Sarasota. It’s going to be “Plum” so it will look purple too. I had to buy a “large” and I hope it won’t be too big. There was an “issue” with the small size. Anyway, I hope it takes the place of my black Casio watch and also the more expensive Apple Watch.
So this morning it is a little cool out so the cats are keeping me company at the table. Here is a picture of Metaxa!
I love the way her tail curls around her feet. I also noticed the rump on Domino in this picture. He’s so BIG! Then there is Wylie:
Love my cats! They keep me grounded and sane.
I’ve started going to more meetings now that I’m close to the New Attitudes Club. I like the 5:30 meeting and I mentioned the other day to Ron Lucas that I’d like to start a new “Grapevine” meeting. He said he’d be willing to start one at 5:30 on Fridays. I said “no” at first because I’ve got that commitment at Intergroup, but then I figured that I could give that up. Even Bill thinks it may not be worth keeping the store open on Fridays. I don’t get much action. It was originally good when Steve and I would meet there. But ever since he died, it hasn’t been the same. So I may have my “Grapevine” meeting afterall on Fridays. I’ll keep you posted on that too! Tonight is Intergroup. I think I’ll reach out to Tim to see if he wants me to report for Corrections. I am a little upset that the committee chairs are not going to Intergroup like they should. But I guess I’m not in charge of them. It will be interesting to see how the “new officers” run the meeting. I’ll let you know about that next time.
I have to get going now. Thanks for visiting. See you soon!
