Good Morning Bill and Cathy, the world and beyond!
It’s been a while since I posted and I’ve been pretty busy so there is a lot to catch up on. First of all, let’s start with a picture:
Lucky’s Market has opened in Naples and it is right down the road from me. I am so excited about this new store. It’s a cross between Fresh Market and Trader Joe’s. Now I don’t need to drive all the way to Trader Joe’s which is practically where Dick and Doug live and of course I am there on Sundays for church so I can get there once a week if I want. So far, though I’ve been to Lucky’s twice. Anyway, I got so excited about Lucky’s that I applied on line with them. Whether that will ever go anywhere is probably a dream, but it made me find a way to write a new Resume that is only 1 page. It’s amazing what you can do on line today! I just Googled it and it turned out pretty good. It didn’t show any of my previous work history, but I’m not looking for a career any longer, just for a way to make enough money to supplement my Social Security. So if it comes down to it, I’ll “go in” and apply. Not sure that is really what I want to do in my retirement. I’ve got other ideas.
Today I am going to try to get Domino to the vet. Oh, by the way, I’m taking a “mental health” day today so I’m not working. It’s nice to have a PTO Bank that allows me to take time off and be paid for it. I have 487 hours in my PTO bank. That is equal to 60 days off! Wow! I’ve set the time for the girls to come to Florida. They will be coming April 28th to May 2nd. I’ve asked for the 27th to the 3rd off – 40 Hours. It’s gonna be a blast. Don’t know what we’ll do yet, but I’m sure we will keep ourselves busy. I’m wondering if I should spend $500 to get my electric outlets to work in the master bathroom. I think I may do that. I don’t really care whether they work or not, but it will be an inconvenience for us all to share one outlet in the guest bathroom. So I think I’ll schedule that and maybe Dick can do the repair work that will need to be done – the painting that is.
So today I’m going to the Social Security Office and I’ve asked Dick to come with me. I want to find out about the “spousal” benefit. I’ve been told by John Beane that it is “going away” in March and I want to verify that. I think I’ve concluded in my mind though that I only want to work Part Time. If I do that at Moorings Park, I can still contribute to my 401K and continue to get PTO. My goal would be to work 8 to 1 every day – that is 5 hours a day so it would be 25 hours a week. Lyniece does that. Of course, I’m not sure I’ll be able to do that at Orchid Terrace. I could do it in Memory Care. I think I could be helpful there. Maybe work breakfast and lunch as an Activities Assistant. I’m just over working as the Office Co-Ordinator. I’m just getting overwhelmed there more often than I should. I am really “over” doing the schedules.
Ok so now I’m going to try to wrestle Domino into the carrying case to get him to the vet this morning by 8. So I’m going to stop now and continue later. Wish me luck! I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Domino didn’t want to go and is now hiding behind the couch. I cornered him in my closet but he hissed and bit me and was generally uncooperative. I really need to find a mobile vet to come do his claws. I’m not sure how to do that, but I really need to talk to the vet about that possibility. I’ll call them shortly to ask them about that. Okay – Premier Petcare. Mobile Groomer. I’m going to call them.
So now I want to add another picture that I think is SUPER!
Love this picture! AMAZING! I think it is real and not photo-shopped, but you never know any more.
I called Amy my sponsor the other day. She suggested that I begin to meditate about my problems – life decisions, that are bothering me. So I took her advice and I rode Red2 to The Botanical Gardens. I have to say, that I am very impressed by where I live now. I am SO happy in “EAST” Naples. I have a new place to go to meetings – The New Attitudes Club. I have Lucky’s Market. I have the Botanical Gardens. I have Walmart. All is well. Plus I’m living in a fabulous place where I have plenty of room for me and my kitties. We had a terrible storm the other night and my neighborhood withstood the entire thing without damage – at least around my house. I was a little afraid my lanai would be knocked down, but it’s fine. Not like my friend Ali’s porch:
Anyway, I am totally happy in my “hood”! I’m going to get going now. Off to Social Security. Wish me luck again. Thanks for visiting!
