#295 Good Morning Sunday, February 28, 2016

Good Morning Bill and Cathy and the world and beyond,

Today is the “last” day of February, however it is LEAP year so there is one more day this year.  Always think that is interesting.  It causes all kinds of problems with dates and calendars and other things, but it seems to be the way it works so who am I to question?

I’ve had a wonderful week.  Took the day off on Wednesday so I could get some things done.  I first wanted to take Domino to the vet in the morning.  I couldn’t get him in the carrier so he didn’t go.  He’s been acting a little strange lately.  I’m worried he has a urinary problem.  First I found him here:

Dommie in the Sink

I’ve never seen him do that before.  Bev was funny!  I put the picture on FB and her comment was “If I fitz, I sitz!”  And then yesterday he sat on the bed and hid behind the pillows all day.  I’m not sure whether he might have a urinary blockage since it doesn’t see like he is using the litter box.  I dread the idea of getting him in the box for taking him to the vet.  Maybe I can get John & Polly to help in the morning.  Who knows.  I’m just hoping he’ll perk up.  But so far today, he’s hanging out on the bed again.

So then that same day, I decided to stay home because I wanted to fix the electrical problem I have in my bathroom for when the “girls” come in April.  So I waited at home all afternoon (the window was from 2 to 4).  It was a really rainy day so I was happy to lie down on the couch and read and nap while waiting.  Well by 5:15 the guy never showed so I called them and said I needed to leave so now I need to reschedule again.  I had to go to the District 20 Meeting that night and didn’t have a lot of time to waste at that point.

So the day was a bust, but it was still nice to have a day off in the middle of the week.  I may do that more often, except that Wednesdays are BEO day and I need to be at that meeting.  Becky went for me this week.

Then on Thursday night we had our 62nd Anniversary Dinner of the Naples Group.  Russell did the catering and they did a wonderful job.  We sold all 128 tickets and we collected the exact correct amount of money.  128 X $20 = $2560.00.  I’m not sure whether we broke even, lost money or made money.  I don’t really care but it will be interesting to know.  I guess we’ll find out on our business meeting next week.

So Saturday, I went to the Rock & Roll Recovery Bash at Sugden Park.  It was the 3rd one.  I’ve been to them all.  It is a great event.  People come from different places in town (mostly the Serenity Club) and I don’t see them all that often.  Jona and Tracey were there:

I got to know these two when we were doing “Sister’s by the Sea”.  They both are wonderful singers and sang a little at that event.  Jona sang with the band “The Second Chance Band”.  Her husband is the guitarist.  They own a gun shop and he looks like a “biker or ex-con” with lots of tats, but if he is happily married to Jona, he is a “good” guy so no judgement there!  Let’s see if I can get a picture of him from FB and you’ll see what I mean:

I don’t even know what his name is.  That is really bad!  But he scares me a little but it might be that “gun” thing!

Here is another picture of one of my favorites from “Sisters”:

Sharon and I worked together making up reception packets and managing Banquet tickets for the event.  She was wonderful to work with.  This last time, she had to leave in the middle of the busiest time because her daughter  was having her baby and she became a grandmother that weekend!  What are the chances of THAT!

Anyway, working on “Sisters by The Sea” was a wonderful memory for me and I made some really good friendships.  I was thinking about that recently and I realize how great my friends in AA are and my “friends” from my previous life are no where to be seen.  But of course I never see them anymore.  I think Cindy and Mary Davis would help me if I needed anything, but that is about all.

So additionally yesterday we had the “Grapevine” set up.  Everyone was there but Haven.  Here we all are plus Ann:

That is Ann, me and Anja in the front row and Roy and Steve (aka Grapeman) behind.  Only problem with “Grapeman” this time was he scared some of the kids!  It was so funny!

So today I think Dommie is trying to tell me something:

Dommie isn't feeling well

I’ll need help with this!  Calling on John and Polly!  Ugh!  We’ll try tomorrow morning!

Guess I better get rolling!  Time to get going to church.  Then I may go down to Goodland to support the Lely Drum Line.  We’ll see about that.  Depends if I hook up with Polly and John.

Thanks for visiting!
