Good Morning World!
So it has been a while since I’ve blogged. Not a lot going on that is upsetting me these days so I guess that is why. Life is good! I have good friends and the weather has been super. Today is probably the last time we’ll see this:
I’m thinking about Beaches coming to Naples at the end of April. I’m going to start sleeping in the den so the kitties get used to me being in here. We’ll test it out pretty soon.
Things that are coming up are: Ham on Wry on April 3rd. It was supposed to be stormy last Sunday so they rescheduled the event. But it turned out to be a nice day and it could have happened, but I’m sure it was all for the best. With the rescheduling of the Ham on Wry event, we needed to change our workshop. So now we are doing it on the 17th:
I found this flyer on line but now I can’t remember from where. I liked how it turned out so I’ll try to find that website again one of these days. Unfortunately I covered up the web address with the Go to: line. That is a project for another day. I do remember that it is a word document and allows me to edit it as I wish. Our committee is really great for this event. I’m enjoying our time together. We meet at Applebee’s for dinner on Wednesday nights and we’ll all be together in St. Pete over the weekend of April 9th & 10th. With the move of the date, we’ll be able to promote the event at the Intergroup meeting on April 6th. Of course, we’ll do the same at the District Meeting on the 30th.
Last Sunday was Palm Sunday and I did the reading at church. I enjoyed being part of the service and it is easier than being an elder since the elders write their own prayers. I got to read a contemporary reading and then the Scripture reading. They were both about Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey/colt. In the contemporary one he was in a Honda 550 with L-O-V-E tattooed on the knuckles of his right hand. I want to try to find that poem to put here. I’ll be right back: – Can’t find it. I threw my “cheatsheet” away. I guess I’ll just have to ask Michael to send it to me. I’ll add it when I get it back.
“Palm Sunday” by Joy Cowley, from Aotearoa Psalms: Prayers of New People
No donkey this time
but a borrowed Honda 550.
Jesus riding into town
with a black leather jacket,
jeans frayed at the knees,
and L-O-V-E tattooed
on the knuckles of his right hand.
Those who saw him
said his smile was like the sun,
warming shadowed corners
and causing the way to blossom
unexpectedly.
Those who saw him told
of all the light over
to be taken home and set
in eyes, in hearts
and at windows for strangers.
It was like a miracle,
they said.
The rest of us missed it.
We were in another part of the city,
waiting for the Messiah.
So April will be busy for me. I’ll be going to the Quarterly over the weekend on April 9th & 10th. We’re doing the workshop on the 17th. And then the girls come in on the 28th. My PTO starts on the 27th to May 3rd.
Well I’m out of time today. Got to get going. Thanks for visiting!
