#383 – Saturday, October 27, 2018

Hello everyone,

So I did it.  I bought a camper!  It is a NEW 2018 Nucamp Tag 5W – Boondock.  I have been going round and round about this and wanted EVERYTHING I got into.  Suzan, Bette and I went to an RV Show today and I found that I really liked the Winnebago Micro Minnie.  It was really beautiful and it was offered for $18,897.  So my deal is, I would need to store the thing somewhere and once that happened, I would probably not use it much and it would be such an inconvenience to go camping because I would have to take it out of storage and bring it home to put my gear in it etc., and the beauty of the one I got, is that it will fit in my garage.  THAT is what I was looking at.  So it is the one that is “ok if you don’t mind getting dressed lieing down”!  That was a “deal breaker” before, but I’ve changed my mind.  Plus there is no bathroom on this thing, but I can get a port-a-potty and have it available for me in the rig.  I bought it for $16,105.00.  I canceled my RV Rental of the big C Class I was taking out for 6 days in November.  It was so much more than I need and was a bit intimidating.  Anyway here she is (although I may call her Otis)……

ME & OTIS

It comes with a rack on the top that will need to be adjusted to get into the garage.   It has a TV, AC and stereo system inside and the back teardrop lifts up for the outside kitchen.  I can use the big Grapevine tent to put up over the kitchen for shade.  I can bring the smaller tent I have for the beach (Cool Cabana) to see if that will work also.  But I want to put on an awning to start and then get the screen room later to expand the living area where I can get dressed “standing up” and have privacy for the port-a-potty I’ll be getting.  So I’m going to ask John to send me $20,000 and then when my Trike sells, I’ll have that $$ to pay off the loan – I’m going to finance it with the RV Dealer – Gerzeny’s RV World.

This is what the inside looks like:

And this is the other side:

The windows are amazing and will allow for great “star gazing” and cross breezes.  There are 2 doors to get into the trailer on either side which will make it nice to set up side by side of Suzan and Bette.  At any rate, I am happy I’ve done this, but only shared it with Bill Strenkert so he will know he doesn’t need to drive me out to Golden Gate to pick up the big MONSTER.  And of course Suzan and Bette know:

Partners in Crime

So the adventure begins and I’ll need to look up that other woman who did videos in her little T@G and then switched to the Outback version.  I know I’ll find it on YouTube.  If not, I’ll start my own “VLOG”.  How many 68 year olds do this type of thing anyway.  Guess just crazy DRUNKS!

I may need to tell Dick & Doug about it because we are going out to lunch tomorrow after church.

See you next time.

(I need to get my sign off for my videos!)  This is what I’ll be doing for a while.  I’ll do this blog to document my journey into RVing!
