Welcome back COVID-19 Warriors! Day 202 of this pandemic for me! And day 22 for Buster’s homelife adventures. I spoke with by brother Bill last night and he assured me that it was OK that Buster hasn’t co-operated yet – HE’S A PUPPY!!!! I was greatly relieved. So his advice was to just get rid of that turf and grass – I had already come to that conclusion, but I might expand that pen outside so he can be contained a little outside. And this morning DAY 22 (sorry it wasn’t the 22nd of the month Bill’s Birthday) but close enough and THIS HAPPENED!
He pooped outside for the first time and it was in MY driveway! He had already peed in the rocks of a neighbor’s yard a bit before so we had a DOUBLE WIN today. AND we get to go to the vet this morning for his booster shot and we’ll be able to go to the Dog Park and run around too! The temperature is getting better so life is LOOKING UP! I love my little puppy Buster! What a sweetie!
Love this picture of him all pooped out!!!! Flat as a pancake upside down! I canceled my subscription to Fresh Patch. Really, why would I confuse Buster more with grass when there is no grass where we live – only dirt and rocks! Plus all he did was eat the grass, never used it for it’s intended use. Live and learn!
So here is a picture of Buster this morning after his successful pooping on the driveway!
And I was reading the Daily Reflections for today and wow – what a sign from above!
So I just got back from the vet. He got a couple of shots including a Rabies shot. So now I feel I can take him to “the park”. When I got home, we went potty and he did both in my rocks in the back yard. Here is proof of his “duties”:
The rocks are pretty in this picture – hard to see the pee, but trust me, it was there! Now look at this one:
Unreal! Twice in one day. Maybe we are turning the corner. We’ll go back out every 2 hours now. Then we’ll keep trying! SO excited!
He was so proud of himself. He has now gone out 3 times today!!!! 2 poos and 3 pees! So tonight we went for a walk as the last walk of the day and he wouldn’t let me pick him up. I’m not sure where his shots were given as they did it without me in there. Each time I try to pick him up he yelps. I called the vet to clarify where he got the shots and they were closed. I left a message. After the walk, he wouldn’t continue home which is where I usually pick him up and carry him. So I had to lure him home like Hansel & Gretel with a piece of food. It took forever! So tomorrow we stay close to home and the yard.
CONTINUED on Wednesday, 10/21/20. Up at 4:00 to go outside. It’s an OK time for me to get up since I like to go to the 8AM meeting in Naples at 5AM my time. Buster peed in my driveway within about 3 minutes. Then about 10 minutes later he pooped on the rocks by the porch. He seems to like that area. Maybe we’ve got something accomplished now. I took him out 3 times last night before midnight and he never did anything so in the crate for the night. He settled down really well and stayed in there quietly until 4AM.
This is Buster’s early pee this morning in our driveway. We’re not going too far from the house today due to sensitivity to the shots.
So I put Buster in the crate for when I went on my walk to trash and mail. I did this today:
So that is done! Now I need this sign in my yard!
Jan sent this to me. ADORABLE!
I’m stretching my treats for him. Cut them in quarters!
Continuing this on Thursday, October 22, 2020! Happy Birthday brother, Bill – 71 today OMG how did that happen! Anyway, today is a double win for us. Bill’s birthday and Buster’s 3rd morning in a row with this:
And this right after – within 1 minute!!!!!!!
I promise this will be the last picture of pee and poop, but it is such an accomplishment and I am so proud of Buster. With the shots he had on Tuesday, he hasn’t been letting me pick him up. This morning we CELEBRATED with treats and a great rub down and it seems things may be OK now, but I haven’t tried to pick him up like I’ve done before, I’m doing the Hansel and Gretel thing for the time being, but I’ll try it later to see if he isn’t so sore that I can pick him up again.
So now Buster is feeling better. I can pick him up and I’m letting him sit in my lap as I try to meditate. Now I’m getting a phone call from Jan, so all is on hold for the time being.
So happy today. We all are! Went out at noon after crating and he peed in the back rocks! LOVE THIS DOG!
