Good Morning Everyone,

So this morning Metaxa caught a frog.  It was one of those really tiny ones.  Nature is really amazing sometimes.  I wonder how big that little thing gets?  I don’t see a lot of bigger frogs around my house so I don’t think they have a long life span – but who knows?  Of course I took it away from her and let it go in the bushes.  She’s still looking for it!  So mean!

I can’t get into Earthlink this morning for some reason.  So I can’t check my email except on my phone and I don’t think everything I get on the computer goes to my phone.  I’m looking for some pictures of my Aunt Pat in her new “digs” as my cousin Dick would say.  But suddenly I remember I downloaded them yesterday, so they should be in that folder.  Let me see……

Second "Home" for Aunt Pat

Second “Home” for Aunt Pat

Success!  Luann said the move was great and she is happy in Litchfield.  It will really be better in the long run too since Luann has a business she is running so she is flexible with her time and Doug and Dick are going to be “snow birds” to Naples each winter.  I think about Aunt Pat a lot while I’m at work.  I see the residents and their struggles everyday and think that she is going through a lot of the same thing.  But now that she is moved and settled I can “let it go” and relax in knowing she is surrounded by people who will keep her safe.  Amen!

Yesterday was an odd day for me.  I’m blaming it on the text I got the night before at 11PM from Bill saying that Terri resigned.  Couldn’t sleep.  So I was tired yesterday.  Anyway, I was asked to be on a committee for the Alzheimer’s Walk on Nov. 15th that I have signed up for (that is the Gratitude Dinner date by the way) and I’ve raised $500 for it.  So they had a meeting yesterday at 2PM and even when I was reminded about it I completely “spaced” it out and didn’t go.  Then later in the day I realized that the Moe’s Corporate Run – that I signed up for was last night.  By the time I got home I decided I wouldn’t go to that either since it was way up off of Immokkalee Road and it would take me a better part on an hour to drive there and once I’m home, it’s not easy to get me out again.  So I texted my friend Becky who was there and said I wasn’t coming.  So my commitment level was at an all time low yesterday.

I have a prescription for a product I use when my face has issues from stress and lots of other things called Rosacia.  I don’t think I’m spelling it right but anyway it is called Metrogel.  Now that I work in a nursing environment I’m a little more aware of expiration dates on products.  So I was looking at my tube of this stuff and I saw that it expired about 5 years ago.  So I thought it probably wasn’t working anymore.  So I decided to get the doctor to “call it in”.  Well I got a call from the pharmacy that it was in and it costs over $100!  I was in shock!  Wow – must have some gold in it or something.  Anyway, so my dilemma is that obviously I don’t want to pay for that, so I’m going to see if I can be reimbursed by my insurance at work.  I would hope so.  I’ll try to get that resolved during the day today.  I have only one other prescription I get each month and it only costs me $8 so I never bother with having it reimbursed, but $100 is another story – that’s money I want for my new computer!

Well time is up today.  Have a TGIF!

No better “toy” for Metaxa than an itsy-bitsy frog. If ya want to know why those little frogs have short life-span, I’ll refer you to your sentence at top of this blog.–grin!

NOTE: 5 out of every 2,000 tadpoles live to adulthood, mainly b/c of predators. Thereafter average life is 6-8 years. That’s about all we need to know? Huh?

Aunt Pat looks happy in photo, of course she’s escorted by two “handsome” men. Prob she is happy person most always.

I talked with Terri, and was assured that she is a “HAPPY PEEP” Good to hear. BTW, Terri commented on your messages to her, and I could tell that even though she “didn’t need it”, a little friendly vocal support was indeed welcome.

Sometimes when I begin not attending to commitments, it is a sign that I have taken on too many of them–grin! Reminds me that the world will function very well, when I’m GONE.
THAT’S a segue into the movie “Gone Girl”. This afternoon Stacy W’s father Mike and I are going to Mercado for that. He lives alone, and LOVES the several times a year we do that…We even splurge on those delicious Chicken Tenders (FRIED!) which are so good. We take turns being the host. It is SO much fun for me, too…

As for prescription meds, we have Medicare Rx…which has been a LIFE-SAVER for us–who are on Sociable Security. It sounds like you are stressed. I remember last year(s) when around October/November, you seemed bogged down with work. Could it be the added work, responsibility, anticipation of Gratitude Dinner?

See you Sunday. Got more news on Lenovo…
    Bye

Yes – the Gratitude Dinner Ticket Mastering is very stressful. Plus we always have the “variety” show at Moorings Park around that time – that week actually this year. Plus I’ve added the Walk For Alzheimer’s on the same day as the Gratitude Dinner Nov. 15th. So stress is there always at this time. Each year I have a meltdown and say I will NOT do the tickets, but it’s about $10,000 to manage in cash for that event each year. I do the accounting and I make the bank deposits. It’s a lot of work and I’m not seeing any “stepper uppers” for this. UGH!

HA! No “stepper-uppers”. Is it not true that some of us wait for a void to happen, before stepping up to fill it? When my peace of mind or health is being challenged–sometimes only a friend can tell me of this–then I might consider creating that void.

Hey, I’ve got M O N E Y for three tickets and two more on “reserve” (Ted and Laura).

Are you in charge of “variety show”? Are staff the primary
        participants…or residents also?

If I can be of “non-strenuous” help (with Tickets) let me know PLEASE. NOT the walkathon–grin! But maybe Variety show. I DO play the violin, ya know.

        A fellow told me–long ago:

        1. Step up to a service position whenever there is an opening.

        2. Step up also when there is NOT and opening.

Our Variety show at MP is for our residents and put on by the staff. No residents are in it. Our policy is a no “tipping” policy and instead, there is a “Christmas Fund” that we get at Christmas time. The residents contribute to this fund and then it is distributed to the MP partners as a Christmas Bonus. It is really great and very appreciated by all of us.

Thank you for being so good with your ticket sales. I’ve only sold 2 and they were for me! I’m a terrible salesperson!
