Hello Everyone,
Well it’s FRIDAY and Monday is Labor Day so I get an extra day off this weekend. It is also payday – what a world I live in! It’s pretty cool!
We had a meeting last night about the Gratitude Dinner and things are cranking along. Ticket packets are all ready for our Intergroup Meeting next week. We’re packing them as packets of 8 so that if they sell them all as a “table” they won’t try to sneak in a 10 top – no 10 tops this year! I think it’s gonna be great – as usual. I don’t know our speaker – Snow from Ft. Lauderdale, but she is known in the AA Community as the “Sober Cruise” lady. Maybe one day I’ll go on one of those things. Bucket List! But now we have a “flyer”. You’re the first to see it:
I think it is beautiful. Terri L did it and it is wonderful. I’m hoping I can get it to print out with that pretty blue. So far, my printer from this computer (my laptop) is not good. Also, this is a jpeg and when I converted it to a PDF which I need for the website – it comes out sideways. I tried the tool to rotate it and it didn’t work. I’m asking Terri to send it to me as a PDF. I’m hoping she can do that. If not, I’ll keep trying it in various tools I have. I now have 3 PDF converting programs – don’t ask! So one of them should work. I know what Bill is going to say about this flyer – sure is going to use a lot of ink! But I’ll try it at work too. I need to stuff the flyers in the ticket packets which number 50 so I really need to get the blue to work better. The printer at my desktop is prettier, but not quite right. No one will really care but Terri and she’ll be upset that it isn’t the right blue. I’m hoping I can get it better at work. More shall be revealed.
So I’m excited about having a 3 day weekend. I don’t have any exact plans. Last Labor Day I did this:
I painted the only wall in my house without a bunch of hardware and places to “prep with tape” so I painted this wall. I have to say it makes all of the difference as you walk into my house. All of the pictures – I love them too – bought at art fairs on 5th Avenue – have blue in them and the collage is pretty neat if I do say so myself. It was a simple thing to do and I think it turned out GREAT. But now I’m not sure what I want to paint now. I did my bathroom a lot of years ago in my place I owned in the Vineyards. It turned out okay and then Keith and I painted my kitchen yellow. That was pretty cool also, but I’m just not a good painter and don’t like to do it very much – but I’m too cheap to hire someone to do it, but that is really the way to have it done. So another Bucket List item!
Well I’m out of time again. Got to get going. Have a beautiful day!
