Good Morning, August 31, 2014

Hello Everyone,

Today is Sunday.  It is the 5th Sunday in this month so that means I’m “in charge” of setting up at church today.  It means that I need to bring the Ice and the lemonade (got the lemonade – ice on the way to church), Grape Juice and Bread for Communion and then just setting up the Communion Table, Annoucements Table and “Hospitality” (Coffee) Table.  It’s a lot of work for one person.  You have to make the coffee and set up the Lemonade and Water containers too.  But I only have to do this on the months that have 5 Sundays – I used to make the coffee and set up every Sunday, so this is better.  I’m glad this is a long weekend.  It makes me feel like I have a lot of free time this weekend.

I have all of the ticket packets (50 of them) ready for the Intergroup Meeting on Wednesday ready to go.  Now the fun begins with ticket sales.  I actually love the process of managing the tickets – I have it down to a “science” since I have files that go back to 2006 which means I’ve been doing this since then.  Each year I say “no more”!  But here I am.  Will that happen this year?  Maybe.  Lisa D is willing to learn the process and I’m going to let her do it.  She was going to do it this year, but something happened and it didn’t work out.  She wants to print tickets for the Annual Picnic.  Next year we’ve decided (I’ve decided) to print the tickets for that picnic also and it’s gonna be $3 for entrance next year.  Lisa said she would help with that process so we’ll see.  As much as I complain about doing this, it really isn’t so bad and the “committee” shares the responsibilities.  Peter F is doing a great job this year with the Gratitude Dinner.  He is sending out great communications and information.   It is great working with him.

I’m going to cut this short today.  I need to get going so I can do my job at church today.  Then I’ll have the rest of the day to “play”.  Will I go to the gym after church today…….more shall be revealed!

Have a wonderful day, Steve!
