Good Morning Monday, November 10, 2014

Hello Everyone,

Well it’s 5 days until FREEDOM today.  I mention this because if no one else is having a countdown, I am.  Silly I know, but it makes me feel better.  I’m still going to order 25 balloons when I know that I only need 18, but now that I say that, I think I’ll ramp it back to 22.  If they come early, I just don’t know whether any of them will be “popped” by mistake.  Peter hasn’t said he has been in touch with the “new guy” at the church since Scott has gone to Arizona.  But now, I need to leave it in his hands.  I suggested that he make our guarantee at 270 with 34 8 tops.  So we’ll see what he chooses and we’ll live with it.

I called Suzee last night.  I hadn’t heard from her in a while and I was wondering about her.  She and I “quit” the WSW meeting at the same time and she is trying to find another meeting to go to if she can get her schedule to change.  I’m going to keep trying to go to the Wednesday Women’s meeting at Common Solutions.  Then I will try to go to the Cookie meeting on Saturday nights so that will be 2 meetings a week I “get to”.  I’ll try to get to the Brown Bag on Saturdays too.  I’ve discovered that I can probably make the Sunday BB meeting also after church.  That just depends on what is happening there.

Anyway, back to Suzee…… I told her I would blog about this so here it is:  Meet Midnight!

Suzee's Midnight

Suzee’s Midnight

She now has a cat to keep her company.  She said when she first got her, she hid from her, so now things are getting better.  She is now her best friend.  So we caught up a little.  She has a new phone.  Her computer has been on the “blink” and Karen fixed it for her – I didn’t know she had those skills – I’ll have to check that out.

Speaking of new phones. I saw Tim’s new iPhone.  He got the “6” (smaller version) and I really like it.  I thought it would be too big to carry, but I’m not thinking that so much anymore.  I’ll try to hold off getting one until my birthday – which is in a few weeks, so we’ll see.  I may go to the Verizon store to see what it would cost me.

So we are looking for a new home for Intergroup and for The Brown Bag.  I went to the BB business meeting yesterday.  I was impressed by the number of people who attended the meeting.  I was surprised that Joe B. was the chair.  I was happy that Jackie had gone to the Intergroup meeting because Joe P didn’t remember who was running for the positions at Intergroup and we needed to vote on the candidates.  The Brown Bag is voting for Jessica, Secretary, Ken, Treasurer, Leo Vice Chair, and Ralph for Chair.  I hope that is the way it turns out.  I can’t vote any longer since I am not the Intergroup Rep for any Group.  I think the December meeting might be a “long” one.

But back to the new home.  They found a space off of Airport Road around the corner from Radio Road.  Bill said it was 231 in the email he sent out, but it was 213 apparently.  I’ll go by there this afternoon to look at the right one.  We also looked at a space on the East Trail across from Pet Supermarket.  Bill is “rethinking” the issue about having a meeting place attached to the IG Office.  He is thinking that we “didn’t bring it to the groups” so he was going to talk to Peter about that.  It sure would be nice to have a space for the Brown Bag connected to the IG Central Office.  As it is, it will be a big adjustment for everyone.  Afterall, the office and BB have been together for something like 25 years.  At least we celebrated the 25th Anniversary last year so I’m using that number.  It’s a long time!  Everyone is a little nervous about it.  But as Jim pointed out, he drives down from Bonita (he’s retired now) to be “with the people” of the Brown Bag, so it doesn’t really matter where it meets as long as we can keep the coffee on.  Trust me, they do not want to have to “bring everything” to set up every day.  We do it once a week for church and it get old really fast!  I am really looking forward to having a “permanent” space.  A good point though – who will “rent” to the BB but Intergroup?  Certainly that is going to be an “issue”.  So now let’s just let it go and LET GOD!  We even prayed about that in the meeting yesterday – thank you Janette!

Well, it’s about time to close for the day.  Thank you for visiting today if you make it.  Have a beautiful day!

Always I’m glad to meet another cat–like Suzee’s Midnight, such prettiness. And as companions…the best, as long as I just “let them be”..(It was all I wanted most of my earlier life–grin!) But a “truce” inevitably comes about

Your “maybe” (proposed!) schedule of meetings is fortunate for those who attend–you bring a special flow of (how many times I say this) ENTHUSIASM into wherever you BE, Mary.

I’ll check out #213 Radio Rd Tuesday morning (Thanks for that info!)…Sounds like there are lots of possibilities. I’m excited about it all, too. Could be a major upgrade for Naples AA
Quite a few of us do not live downtown, and come from 20 minutes or more away…so location is not that critical.

SO GLAD Jackie–sharp girl!– kept the good notes. Joe P. learned a lesson–maybe. God is in charge of the whole thing, especially with that roomful of people PRAYING!

    What a Wonderful World!
