Hello World,

So today is NOVEMBER 15, 2014.  I’ll be walking for Alzheimer’s today at 9:30.  Then I’ll come home and relax for a while – laundry and cleaning to do and then around 3PM I’ll mosey on over to St. John’s to help set up the Gratitude Dinner.  Then around 10 PM I’ll drive home and be done with it.  So it’s gonna be a GRAPE day!  (BTW – we’re giving away a subscription to The Grapevine tonight!).  I wish I had something “dressy” in purple to wear tonight, but I don’t.  I might wear my purple tee shirt that I’m wearing in the walk today to the church to set up and then change into my other clothes.  Hummmmmmm – sounds like a plan.  Guess what!  Just went to my closet and found a “dressy purple” jacket I forgot I had!  Yippee!

So yesterday, Domino, Jackie and I tried to get his claws trimmed.  He was TERRIBLE.  The neighbors probably thought we were killing him he screamed so loudly.  It was AWFUL!  Jackie has a cat like Domino that hates to get his claws done.  It seems to be a “boy” thing.  Our girls are wonderful about it.  Anyway, the last time she took her male cat to the vet they put a little knitted mask on him and it calmed him right down.  She went on line and found one for about $8 so we’re going to try it next time.  She got all but one claw last night which was pretty good considering his screaming and hissing!  But today is another day and even last night he forgave us.  Here he is on my lap!

So I went on the Alzheimer’s Website and they have come close to their goal.  I kept watch on it for quite a while and it wasn’t very successful, but like all things, people rally at the end.  Today they are at 100% with 52 teams, $58,236 raised and 326 walkers!  The link is:  http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2014/FL-FloridaGulfCoast?fr_id=5681&pg=entry.  Go there to see how we’ve done.  Should be fun today.  I was in the top 5 fundraisers early on with $530 – thank you Steve and all the others (mainly family) who donated.  Now I’m way down the list, but you can see how much everyone raised at the website.  It’s pretty impressive actually – the website that is.  I’m sure after the event today, there will be more money raised!  I’ll take some pictures and post to FB as the day goes on.  It’s a little chilly this morning, 54 degrees – perfect walking weather plus it will be warmer by 9:30.
