Good Morning Everyone,

Woke up this morning at 4:15 AM and just tried to go back to sleep but couldn’t – plus I had Domino on my chest and he a bit heavy.  It reminds me of that ad on TV about COPD where the elephant sits on the people “making it hard to breath”.  It’s really funny – plus that gets Wylie all jealous and she starts swiping at him and then the little one, Metaxa gets into it so before you know it, I’m wide awake thinking about my day and my BLOG.

So yesterday was an interesting, full of fun, day.  I took my laptop to work to try to register for the International AA Convention in Atlanta in July 2015.  I came to work at my regular time and my boss had responded to my email at 5:38 PM saying that it would be OK for me to stay home to complete this task.  But of course I leave at 4PM so didn’t see that email until it was too late and I was already at work.  So, the good news is that I put in my full 8 hours.  Every penny counts now as I’m saving up for Atlanta!

That process was pretty amazing.  I couldn’t do it from my laptop and ended up using the link that Jackie sent me on my phone.  I was able to get right through on that and my official registration number is:  201571.  I was thinking, did that mean I was the 71st registrant?  Could that be?  But I guess not because Bill’s number is 201828.  So go figure – he got in before I did.  But I got an email from him later in the day saying that he wasn’t going because he couldn’t “afford” it.  So I said to him……how much do you spend on those cruises you go on?  Well he said “Sheila pays for them” well…….anyway as we all know – he’ll change his mind at least a dozen times before it’s all over.  I told him he HAS to go because he’s the “glue” that keeps us all together.  I hope I got in his head and he’ll re-think that decision.  Afterall, how could we not forget San Antonio 2010………

Bill charging his phone.

So I went to the HOTEL website too to book my room.  I couldn’t find the Hampton Inn on Spring Street that Jackie had researched so I chose the one at “Georgia Tech – downtown”.  I looked at a map and I think it isn’t THAT far away.  I think it said somewhere that it was .9 miles away from event.  I sure hope I saw the “.” (point) before the 9 and it didn’t mean a full 9 miles away.  Still not totally sure about that.  I’d like to be able to walk most places.  But “big city” – could be a little scary.  Jackie got the Hampton Inn on Spring Street.  I was happy to get a room for the 2nd to the 5th.  I went back in later and “my” Hampton Inn was sold out.  Come to find out from Jackie that once an hotel was “sold out” they took it off the list.  (How does she know all this stuff?  She amazes me!  AND she’s ALWAYS RIGHT).

Next thing when I got home yesterday a big ole box was on my porch.  Look what I bought for my kitties………

They're not so sure yet.

They’re not so sure yet.

It’s really cool.  I’m not sure where I’ll finally put it, but really who cares – it’s “OUR” house and if I want to leave it in my livingroom where it is, so be it.  I just hope they’ll learn to love it like I do!

Finally yesterday, I went to the Intergroup Monthly Meeting and handed out the “Gratitude Ticket” packets.  I got 24 packs handed out.  Some people took 3 (James from We Care).  That was really good.  So let the fun begin.  I’ve sent out my first sales grid – I’ll be in contact with the “group” a lot.  I’d love to “sell out” this year – but that’s asking a lot.  At least we were able to reduce the ticket price by $5.00.  We’ll see if my “ladies” think that is enough or if they’ll bitch about the price of the tickets.  Ugh – will find out on Friday!  I’m going to see if I can insert that “Ticket Grid” here. ………  oops – thanks Steve!

So let the games begin.  It will be my obsession for the next 2 plus months.

Gotta go now.  Running a “tad” late.  Have a beautiful day!
