Hello Everyone,
Well I didn’t get back to yesterday’s blog because I got “busy”. So here I am again. I didn’t want anyone to miss this though:
This is so funny I didn’t want you to get through another day without seeing it again if you saw it. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!
Bill and Cathy are here!! Yippee:
They are staying out on the trail waaaay out about an hour Bill says, in the Big Cypress Preserve. I’ve never been out there so it will be interesting to take the trek out there. I’m not sure which day I’ll be joining them next week. I have a busy day Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. I should be taking Friday off since it is “payday” but since I have 2 days off next week for Christmas, I didn’t request it yet. Since I get off at 4PM maybe I could ride out there after work one day, or just leave at 2 or 3. The possibilities are endless. I was kind of expecting them all day yesterday but they got in too late. But that was OK because I was able to make it to The Naples Group last night which was great. It’s turned into a BIG meeting over 40 people each week and we’ve had to move it from the little room into the “big room” – Barton Hall. Every time I go to that meeting on Saturdays I think about when we had Community School there. I had an office up in the tower where I see a light on each night. It was near the furnace. That was so long ago! Sam Hazard was the Headmaster and I had a typewriter – no computer yet. It was an interesting evolution. After 3 years, we had the campus on Pine Ridge – before Livingston was built. Now there is a HUGE campus and a big high school that plays FOOTBALL! Amazing how that happens. When we came up with the “Seahawks” as the team name, we always said we would never play football. But CSN has done some amazing things over the years. I lasted there for 13 years. Then it was time to move on. I learned a lot working in a small private school that grew and grew and grew and finally out grew me.
So today I’ll meet Bill and Cathy at church. They live and die by GPS so I’m sure they’ll find the place. Plus I put a picture of the sign up each week on Facebook…….oops got to do that for Reeder!
Did I talk about the Christmas Party for Moorings Park yesterday? I don’t think I got a chance. So there is a party every year for Moorings Park. We’ve had it at The Country Club of Naples when we out grew the Elk’s Club, then we had it at the Beach Club last year and were thinking of doing it there again, but that didn’t work out so they moved it to the Naples Grande (Waldorf Astoria, Registry – home of Sisters by the Sea, Serenity by the Sea). So I told you we now have over 700 partners and each one of them can bring 1 adult guest. So that could potentially be one HUGE party. So I said I’d help at the door checking in people. All of the tickets were collected and they were pulled out for prizes – mostly gift certificates and a few huge TV’s. I can’t imagine how much that party costs. Anyway sometimes I go, sometimes I skip it. I’m glad I went this year. It was great. We had the entire ballroom and a fabulous DJ. I enjoy watching people dance. Lily even got me up on the dance floor once. This year, they had a “photo” booth. Everyone had fun with that. Here is an example of what people did:
It was a lot of fun. I didn’t do it – sorry everyone! But I think that will be a “keeper” every year. I hope they book it again at the Registry. The food was fantastic and the desserts were cute little bite sized “tastes”. It was really great. I had fun watching the “girls” in their dresses. They were so much fun. I couldn’t imagine skirts being any shorter on women with big “bootys”. One girl kept pulling her dress down and it would just ride up again. Kiley had a dress on that was “strapless’ and when she danced, she had to keep pulling it up – that was a lot of work. The dancing was amazing also. There are a number of really good dancers and I could tell they dance a lot. They certainly have “rhythm”. The other day at Orchid Terrace, we were having some music for the residents and one of the RCA’s had that butt shakin’ thing going on and she would have given JoLo a run for her money. I don’t know how they do that – I guess I’m just too conservative!
So our Variety Show DVD’s are ready. This year, the variety show was “amazing” – best one yet. It will be fun to get that to watch. I bought 4 of them so I can give them as gifts to Becky, Lily and Millie. I guess I should buy one more for Patti so all of our “admin” team is “covered” for Christmas gifts. Each year I print out a Christmas card for all of our partners. I’m not going to do that this year. I think I’ll just go buy a bunch of candy canes and hand them out as people give me things. It’s a lot of work and I don’t think people really care one way or another. On year I gave out the card and small candy cane to everyone, and one of our nurses never picked it up from his mailbox until 6 months later – funny but that is the reason I’m not doing it this year. I’m being pretty lazy about it. Plus I just bought toner for my color copier and it cost $60! Yikes! Oh well, gotta have what I gotta have.
So, I’m over 1000 words today, but that’s because I skipped yesterday. But I’m gonna go now. Have a beautiful day!

FULL of “stuff” and photos also, and the “Wonderful World” in which you live. You would enjoy the ride out the Trail–on Red, of course. It is probably safer for you than the “Alley”.
Have TERRIFIC days ahead.
