Good Morning Sunday, December 21, 2014

Hello World,

Richard Rohr reminded me that it is the “First Day of Winter” today.  So Happy Winter everyone – just 4 more days until Christmas!

Yesterday all was a “buzz” about this:

This is a SNAKE!

This is a SNAKE!

This 15 foot Python was found on Isle of Capri!  That is just “down the road” from me.  Well about 10 miles or so – maybe longer, but just think…..just two weeks ago we were innocently celebrating Polly’s Birthday at The Island Gypsy Cafe on Isle of Capri!  We all could have been eaten by this thing lurking in the shadows!  So I sent this picture to Bill and Cathy and told them to be careful stomping around in the swamp.  These things are everywhere!

I opened one of my Christmas presents early from my boss Lily and looked what happened:

Early Christmas Present

Thank you Lily!

Thank you Lily!

Of course I have the cutest cats!  Although I must say, Sage is pretty awesome too:

A Happy Cat

A Happy Cat

Sage belongs to my brother Jon’s ex wife, Beverly.  We’re friends on FB and share a love of cats.  She takes some awesome pictures of Sage.  She’ll probably never know that I mentioned Sage on this www website.

Speaking of “followers” of this little thing.  I went into my “cpanel” to look at statistics on viewing of this thing.  This is what I found:

I found this fascinating

I found this fascinating

This is kind of “tiny” – I used the “snipping tool” to copy it, but if you look, it says lots of stuff about views to this site.  I was pretty amazed.  This morning my site had something in the “spam” folder.  So I deleted it – was definitely from some country other than America and was trying to sell something.  So I guess there are more people finding this than just Steve and Cathy!  One never knows!

So today I’m on a mission to get a “George Foreman” grill.  I found some “wild” salmon fillets at GFS.  I wanted to try that rather than going to “Costco” and buying a “membership” there.  I was pretty sure I’d be able to find it there and there is no “membership” fee.  They have LOTS of stuff.  I also bought some frozen veggies for $6 that will last me at least 2 weeks.  They sell in “bulk” there and also sell to restaurants in the area.  I remember using them when I was “in the business”.  This is where Heather and Ralph told me to pick up the 120 frozen Chocolate Chip cookie dough for making cookies for the “Cookie Meeting”.  Yesterday, I decided to take some to the Saturday night BB meeting.  A lot of the regulars were not there – they got invited to a Christmas Party.  Anyway, I cooked one batch and didn’t realize the oven temp was 400 so they burned.  I thought I could “save” them, but the bottoms were really too black – no one would have liked them – except maybe Steve and he was at that “party”.  So then I put in another batch and got scared so they didn’t totally cook, but ended up “chooey” and OK.  At least they were all eaten by the people who came to the meeting last night.  I was glad about that.  Maybe by the time I have to fill my obligation in April to bring cookies, I’ll have the system figured out.  Roy set up and made the coffee for Polly.  It was a GOOD meeting – all you “partiers” – and the cookies were good too!  I even “shared” a little.  First time really.  Next week we’re starting with “We Agnostics”.  Take note!

After spending time with Bill and Cathy this week, I’m re-motivated to do the “Wheat Belly” thing.  I’m also going to try a new website named: www.marksdailyapple.com.  Bill and Cathy look so good, that I’m going to see how I can get healthy like them.  It was great spending time with them and seeing their “Life on the Road”.  It is amazing how they cooperate and live together in such a small space.  The rig they have is so awesome.  Push button “everything”.  Bill amazes me with his skill at “hooking up”.  Just backs that 350 Duely under the rig and “pop” it’s ready to roll.  First try – no “do overs”.  They have their system down pat and they check each other for all of the final prep.  I was going to stay to watch how they empty their “black and gray” water at the “dump” station, but there was a big rig before them, so I didn’t stay for that.  Anyway, they are in the Panhandle today and I miss them.  So I guess I’ll just need to plan a trip to Yellowstone.  I’ll encourage Dick and Doug to plan a trip and I’ll go with them!  This is their “Blog”: http://viewsfromtheopenroad.blogspot.com/.  I’ll be following them also.

Time to get rolling.  Red and I are going to church.  Have a beautiful day today!

We never did see a snake in the swamp…we were sure keeping an eye out for them though. Good luck finding a George Foreman…remember to check the thrift stores. Happy Sunday!

Couldn’t wait for the “Thrift Stores”. Went to Walmart. On sale for $17. I am going to cook myself a hamburger with cheese – Cheeseburger! Anyway, the “Thrift Stores” aren’t open on Sundays and Walmart is! I just thought I should have bought that “coleslaw” salad mix and I’d have a great dinner. Well, guess I’ll use the mixed veggies I bought and enjoy a “Wheat Belly” Dinner!

OK! Here’s the deal. All my life I’ve listened to people of varying degrees of UNknowing say, “Snakes are our FRIENDS. They eat mice. They are more frightened of US than we are of them, etc., etc.”

All I know is one early mention of animal way way back, in the bible, is that the snake in the garden was Lucifer, the Devil himself. Ever since then, I’ve nothing to do with snakes–but I DO have a pretty good “snake” story…some day (sigh)

I like better kitty pictured in that basket you p[posted–but don’t tell anyone I said that. OMG, that brings me to the topic of your site STATS!!! I have said several times you have lots more people reading than commenting. These (in blog-speak) are called “lurkers”. In a way, I think it’s a kind of cheating, like when early AA “men” wore those black masks at meetings. But lurkers always bothered “me, the JUDGE”!!) because it is people trying to “get” something, but unwilling to “give”

Everyone who “looks sideways” at me now, I’ll suspect of being here in secret, reading your blog, also seeing how *I* write to you, my friend. SO? “F” it! I not going to change who I am–reminiscent of RR’s reading this week?

Sage IS on feline beauty! (You will be surprised when one day you find who reads here regularly.)

We have had a George Foreman Grill for several years…it could not be more valuable if it was made oif pure GOLD, that’s how much I love the food which comes off it. Such goodness, difference from oven or microwave (my coffee-maker!). Don’t know where is GFS…but have heard about that place, and see their big trucks frequently. I’ll have to ask…..OK, I will: Mary could you tell me where is GFS?? There, that was not difficult.

Party was a success–loads of laughs–I am not a “party” person…but beginning to change. We were home by
9 PM…highlight was the gift-giving by numbers, where the recipient could “steal” another’s gift (trade it in!) All gifts under $20…some under $5.00. 37 people participated, I did not. (Another lesson learned…PARTICIPATE, Steve!)

Have good day on Red…Flex says “Hello”, so does Burt. HA! This is getting more than ANYONE needs to know, but writing is FUN exercise for me–and ya can SIT DOWN! On that note, wishing you a great evening, Mary, and I’ll say simply, “WWW”

Ok now all is well – I’ve approved both emails now. GFS is on the road to Costco. If you go in by Home Depot off of Pine Ridge Road, it is the first building you see on the right passed that storage place – kitty corner (across the street) from Dick’s Sporting Goods. You have to turn “before” the building because that is the only way in. The first time I went there, I missed that turn and had to do a “u”ie. How do you spell “uie”??? U know UTURN!

Liking your replies…you ARE funny, Mary! Thanks for GFS

Also wanted to see if this (my real “blog” address works. If so, I may try writing there again…if anyone would read it–hint, hint, hint.
